That's one way to increase the birth rate.

[+]Acceptable_Visit604 -59 points-58 points-57 points 3 years ago (45 children) | Copy Link

It better be decreased tho as we're highly overpopulated

[–]XenoX101 33 points34 points35 points 3 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

The third world is overpopulated, not the developed world. All developed countries are suffering from declining birth rates, so anyone in the developed world repeating this 'overpopulated' nonsense is misinformed. We need more babies, not less.

[+]Acceptable_Visit604 -21 points-20 points-19 points 3 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

We definitely need less

1st world people consume way more than 3rd world people so at the end of the day we match each other pretty close bc it's not just about space

[–]XenoX101 15 points16 points17 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

We also produce way more, virtually all the major companies in the world reside in developed nations such as the US, countries of Europe, Japan, etc. Either way our population is declining and if we do nothing to improve the birth rates we will struggle to remain as developed countries, due to an aging population with not enough people to take care of the elderly.

[–]BCRE8TVE 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The US is going to struggle a hell of a lot more when it runs out of drinking water within 50 years.

More babies is only going to make that worse, not better.

I agree with you that the way the system is set up, we need more young people to be able to take care of the elderly.

The problem is that this is a system set up for infinite growth, and we've reached the limits of that growth. We need to change the system, not keep trying harder for something that's not going to keep working.

[–]XenoX101 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

More babies is only going to make that worse, not better

It's not even more, it's the same as we have number of adults at the moment which we need. Currently it is less, which is the main issue.

The problem is that this is a system set up for infinite growth, and we've reached the limits of that growth. We need to change the system, not keep trying harder for something that's not going to keep working.

Well our birth rates show that we are not getting infinite growth, quite the opposite, so I don't agree with that statement. Poverty is associated with high birth rates, which is why the third world countries have such high birth rates and are still increasing the population despite the significant drops everywhere else in the world.

[–]BCRE8TVE 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's not even more, it's the same as we have number of adults at the moment which we need. Currently it is less, which is the main issue.

We need the same amount to maintain a system that requires infinite growth. People in the US already consume too much, if everyone consumed like they did we'd need 2.5 planets to feed everyone the same.

There are too many people on the planet overall, and we need to reduce total human population to reduce resource consumption.

Well our birth rates show that we are not getting infinite growth, quite the opposite, so I don't agree with that statement.

Capitalism requires growth year after year forever, else it crashes. We're not getting infinite growth rate with US birth rates, but to keep the population growing they import immigrants. The point is, for capitalism to work, the population has to keep going up, in some way or another.

The problem is we live on a finite planet where that is impossible, and sooner or later we'll either have hit that limit or gone past it. We cannot continue with a capitalist system that requires infinite growth, because that is impossible. The system needs to be reformed.

Poverty is associated with high birth rates, which is why the third world countries have such high birth rates and are still increasing the population despite the significant drops everywhere else in the world.

Yep, and when those masses of people are going to want the same standards of living as everyone in the 1st world it's going to consume even more resources we can't afford to spare.

[+]Acceptable_Visit604 -12 points-11 points-10 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The rate is definitely not declining as we went from 7 to 8 billion people in less than 10 years

If there aren't enough to take care of the elders, they'll die faster, meaning less population left

And we produce more FOR OURSELVES

We take it from any place of the world and use it for our own desire, so in the end we consume more as the manufacturers consume the rescources required for the production

[–]XenoX101 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You missed the part where I said developed countries are seeing declining birth rates, as well as the source that I linked. And of course we produce more for ourselves, why would we produce it for others? We do give foreign aid, but countries are not charities.

[–]Acceptable_Visit604 -5 points-4 points-3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In the end we consume more than 3rd world countries

So both sides cause huge exhaustion and thus the wholehiman species is to blame for causing then current extinction event

[–]mostlydisposeable 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If there aren't enough to take care of the elders, they'll die faster, meaning less population left

mate, you've got to work on your fucking optics lmao.

[–]Socalrider82 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Everyone on earth could live in the state of Texas. We are not over populated despite what you're told to believe.

[–]Acceptable_Visit604 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

8 billion inside Texas?

Do you really believe it yourself?

Not to forget that the earth is incapable already of supplying every one of us

[–]Socalrider82 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

7.5 Trillion feet in Texas 7.9 billion people on earth That makes 949 square feet per person. That's not taking into account apartments which would expand that living spaces. There are Chinese families living in less space.

[–]Acceptable_Visit604 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You think no further than space, but space isn't the problem

It are the rescources to sustain our species

Food scources, oil deposits and plenty of other rescources

[–]wiserTyou 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There's about 24.64 million habitable sq miles on earth. That's about 2 acres per person. No way could someone sustain themselves on that. A family of 4 on 8 acres would still be a challenge.

[–]OccultRitualCooking -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No it's not. We, as a society, throw out tons and tons of food every day. The earth is supplying us just fine. Especially considering the agricultural technologies we have.

[–]Acceptable_Visit604 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

We as a society consume too much and produce too much waste to consume by decomposers and thereby becomes toxic and some of our waste products aren't decomposable at all

[–]OccultRitualCooking -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Okay...?

[–]BCRE8TVE 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Then you might want to listen in to what scientists are saying.

The Earth is not supplying us just fine. We're exhausting it to feed ourselves, and the reduction in biodiversity, insect population, and wildlife, is going to affect our ability to produce food more and more, without taking into account the fact of soil depletion, how rising sea levels will flood fertile lands and displace millions of people, how climate change will lead to more droughts and more floods, more forest fires and more hurricanes, and how wet bulb temperatures are going to force billions of people in India and China to flee, or else be roasted alive.

[–]BCRE8TVE 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

8 billion people could all be squashed together to live in Texas.

Then there would immediately be massive disease outbreaks, and there's no way we could set up a system that would be able to evacuate 8 billion people's worth of shit and piss in a sanitary manner, and no way to be able to import the billions of tons of food and water needed to keep all those people alive.

You can stack 8 billion people 10 deep like bricks in Belgium if you like, there's a difference between "being able to cram people into a space" and "those people actually being able to live in that space".

We are overpopulated.

[–]BCRE8TVE 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I mean... This is not sustainable. There are too many human beings on the planet, we are taking too many resources and soon we'll run out of enough drinking water for everyone on the planet. This wouldn't have been a problem if the population had stabilized around 4 billion people, but now we're double that.

Declining birth rates is not the same as overpopulation, those are two different things.

There are too many humans on the planet already, and needing more babies is required for a system of infinite growth. Infinite growth on a finite planet doesn't end up well however, and we need to slow down before we slam into that wall face-first.

[–]XenoX101 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Right but the infinite growth isn't happening in the developed world, we need as many babies as we can get otherwise we have bigger problems on the horizon. This is a third world problem, so the solution has to be there.

[–]BCRE8TVE 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We need as any babies as we can get to keep fueling a system of infinite growth, but being on a finite planet that's going to end up very badly for everyone.

Instead of doubling down on a system that will result in the destruction of the earth's ability to sustain human population, we should try and reform the system so it doesn't require infinite population growth.

Overpopulation (and climate change) are world-wide problems. We either all make it together, or we all die together. There is no "us" or "them", we're all in the same boat (literally on the same planet), so the question is "what can we do to help".

One part of that is not to keep having babies forever.

There will be problems with an aging population, absolutely, but we're going to face far more problems down the road if we don't address overpopulation and climate change now.

Tell me you are a psychopath without telling me you are a psychopath.

[–]Acceptable_Visit604 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

We really are with too many

8 billion is way too many

According to WWF studies the last time the earth would've been truly capable of sustaining mankind was in the 70's when there were only 3 billion people

The overpopulation of a species results in damage of the ecosystems it find itself in and since we basically dominate the earth, the whole planet is suffering from our existence

We really need to get our numbers down, do we want to prevent or limit another mass extinction event

[–]Imissyourgirlfriend2 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

And I suppose you are the one to decide who can't have children and who can? Are you seriously going to walk in on someone getting an ultrasound and tell them that they need to abort that child? Have you sterilized yourself? Do you plan to not have kids?

Seriously, I'm dead serious here, who do you think you are to tell everyone else, "Hey, stop having kids"?

[–]Imissyourgirlfriend2 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm unclear as to what you're hoping to see here, I had myself sterilized 8 years ago; I'm never having children.

What I find abhorrent is people telling other people, "You shouldn't have kids! We need to save the planet! You gotta stop making babies!!!"

It's such an elitist point of view. Here we are, discussing the climate/saving the planet, which affects everyone, but who's left out of the discussion? All the poorest people in the world. The poorest people of the world are the ones having the most children and putting out the most carbon emissions into the atmosphere. The bulk of harmful emissions are coming out of central America, China, India, Russia, etc. What are we supposed to tell them?! "Hey! Don't progress! Don't build! Don't grow! Stay right where you are on the economic ladder!!!"

You know what they will say? "Fuck you, we need energy. We cannot afford wind and solar and you don't want us building carbon fueled power plants or nuclear, so what are we supposed to do?!"

[–]BCRE8TVE 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Are you able to actually listen to what the person is saying instead of projecting what you believe they are saying? They haven't said a word about sterilizing or abortions or anything like that, they're just rightfully pointing out that there are too many humans on the planet and it is not sustainable.

That is a fact.

What we do about it and how we go about sustainably reducing the population is a completely different discussion to have, but it's a necessary one in the face of the fact that there are too many people on the planet.

It's not about saying "hey, stop having kids", it's about recognizing true facts about reality, and then finding a solution to deal with them.

Could send home all non Ukrainian refugees and immigrants. Decrease the number on non danish people instead of decreasing danish people

[–]Acceptable_Visit604 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's not just Europe, but worldwide

[–]nineteenletterslong_ -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

non ukrainians because ukrainian refugees are all women

[–]Ba11er18 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

No but non Ukrainian refugees brought an increase in violent crimes and sexual crimes with them. Several Ukrainians went back to a war torn country to live with bombs blowing up outside their houses because it was safer than living in cities filled with migrants and refugees. One mother had to pull her kids out of school because they were bullied and violent assaulted by the other refugee children in the school. Ukrainian refugees have shown gratitude and thankfulness for the country’s for bringing them in other refugees have not. To deny this is to deny reality

[–]nineteenletterslong_ -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

in italy some ukrainians were busted organizing an armed uprising. it's more trouble than all other migrants combined, in italy that is.

the thing you said about ukraine being safer because of fewer refugees is ridiculous. you should be ashamed for saying something so stupid. in fact, immigrants are much less likely to commit violent crimes than locals in europe and north america (just google this sentence and you'll get several results).

you're denying reality. i strongly suspect you're turning a blind eye to it because ukrainian refugees are white women while other kinds are scary scary rapey rapey brown men

[–]Ba11er18 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I’ve heard about the Italy thing before but were they refugees or did they move their? And that’s a straight up lie while native Europeans still commit more crime it’s because they are still the majority but that doesn’t negate the fact that migrants and refugees have been responsible for an increase in violent sexual crime.

I also left out race but since you brought it up let’s go there. African migrants are not assimilating to European culture and instead try and replace it with encouragement from said nations leaders. European cities no longer look European, when I visit family in England and we go to London I wonder where the Europeans are. On top of that they increase the sexual crime and violent crime and have no respect for Europeans or their women. Too many instances of them attacking European women and boosting about it.

Middle Eastern refugees also do the same while blatantly attacking people for not following Islamic law while they are not in an Islamic country. Europe is a Christian and Pagan continent and should remain that way. Middle Eastern refugees in London and some Scandinavian countries have turned neighborhoods so bad that they are no go areas that police won’t even go to. In France several people have been murdered for insulting allah by Muslims in France it got so bad at one point several generals considered a coup to fix the refugee problem and save France. Europeans strongly dislike migrants because they bring their ears with them.

I do find it funny you mock the rape of European women and young girls. You are actually an evil person

[–]nineteenletterslong_ -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

immigrants, including illegal immigrants, have a lower crime rate than locals in europe and north america. a lower crime RATE.

the rest proves me right: you take issues with what immigrants LOOK like. ukrainians look european, others don't.

about the religion too. people can be of whatever religion they choose. you're noone to dictate what religion people of any country should choose.

there hasn't been any increase in sexual crimes. it's a feminist lie

[–]Ba11er18 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Illegal immigrants all commit a crime hence the name illegal immigrant. And there has been increases in violent and sexual crime due to mass immigration and it’s not a feminist lie infact feminist groups still defend mass immigration

[–]nineteenletterslong_ -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

really? is that your argument against illegal immigrants? that they're illegal by definition? then declare ukrainans illegal and it's the same situation for them.

good way of ignoring your failure on all other counts.

there hasn't been a spike in sex crimes. sex crimes are going down in europe. feminists defend mass immigration only for women.

this is a place for men's rights, not white nationalists

[–]OrangeBerry97 52 points53 points54 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The devil is in the details; specific requirements/eligibility, exemptions, etc?

[–]lordluke10 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It only just got majority support, but for men the health requirements are a moving standard depending on how many volunteers there are, it will probably be the same. So when women are a part of the draft lottery, more will be pulled proportionally if the volunteer sign ups get lower

[–]HurterOfFeefeesV2 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]CanComplex8695 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Very few(if any) feminists would support this if it was actually enacted.

Feminism is very unpopular during a real war. Look at what happened in Ukraine.

[+]name-_less 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What happened in Ukraine is because of old laws, many woman would probably fight if they could but they have children who they can not just abandon.

[–]calmly86 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh, we all remember their reaction to a potential draft back in January 2020… all of a sudden “equality” didn’t seem to matter as much as “well, who’s going to repopulate the country” and “men and women have different strengths and we wouldn’t be as useful on the front lines.”

Those last two of their favorite excuses are the EXACT same things they rake men over the coals for saying when the threat of the draft isn’t over their heads!

[–]senkairyu 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A lot of feminist really want equality and just don't know better than what they're told by other feminist

What will stop them from traveling abroad within EU to avoid conscription?

[–]lordluke10 42 points43 points44 points 3 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

Prison or community service. You need a legally valid reason to not show up to the "session" day. They would probably need become a permanent resident in another country to skip it.

[–]ijustdontcare74 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They need to mandate an EU wide arrest warrant for deliberately avoiding it. If men get pulled up for avoiding conscription then so should women.

[–]lordluke10 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Adding women to the "værnepligt" will add them to the same system and rules. Theres no indication that the government would make it not be illegal for women to skip. Women can already serve voluntarily

[–]Falandyszeus 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women can already serve voluntarily

Yeah, but with special rights men don't get such as quitting at any time for any reason. At least back when I served.

I also signed up voluntarily (got "free number", but wanted to enlist) but was told I'd be expected to finish or be subject to the same legal intervention as those not voluntarily there.

So while they probably wouldn't make it illegal to skip, the current laws seem to allow that they just show up and quit on the spot.

[–]buns345 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This implementation needs to be EU-wide then, preferably also include US and Canada, so that their only option to escape would be countries with language and culture barriers, which in their turn could be beneficial to project the western democratic way of things onto outsider countries 🤔

[–]lordluke10 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If the country they move to had conscription for women too it would prevent them from dodging yes. That would be optimal

The feminists want equality. Compulsory conscription into the armed forces is equality with men. Hope they enjoy their service and learn something about the real world. A tour of duty in a combat zone would be good for their equal rights.

Denmark? Wouldn’t that just be like going through some basic training and then being like a National Guard member for the rest of your term? Doesn’t Denmark stay out of foreign conflicts for the most part?

[+]Willing-Community-98 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

True. If nobody wants to voluntarily fight then it isn’t a country worth fighting for. But if men are forced to women should be too.

[–]calmly86 -3 points-2 points-1 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Everyone likes to say this, as if we had an army of robots in the wings to do the fighting for us, but the reality is, even in the most necessary of wars, such as Ukraine currently repelling an invading force, they’re forced to rely on conscription in order to fight back, though one could say they’re not even able to do so adequately without massive foreign assistance.

The most “righteous” war ever, World War 2, was won by the allies, who were able to do so only because they fought with mandatory military service for their men.

[+]friedreindeer -51 points-50 points-49 points 3 years ago* (21 children) | Copy Link

Just leave army duty as it is, it has been like that since the Viking ages. Conscription for men has existed even before women could vote! No reason to ruin it. And btw, there are plenty of skills you learn there, that give you an edge later in life (e.g. leadership)..

Since when men have become like this? Why are we worried about different requirements or women fleeing abroad? There is a difference between men and women, where most men enjoy the camping and shooting more. If women don’t like it, don’t force them. If you don’t like it as a man, there are plenty of reasons you can come up with to pussy your way out.

Is it the new woke man here crying about every small difference in rights? Or are it the Tate-fanboys? We are different in many ways, there is no way everything can be made exactly equal. Just man up.

[–]Foxsayy 39 points40 points41 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Just man up.

I'll take "Toxic jargon that represents everything we stand against" for $500, Mr. Trebek.

Well yes, I agree, and I am sorry for using the expression. It was a provoking brainfart.

[–]Peaceandwholsomemes 21 points22 points23 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Hold your horses: you think that army life is ‘camping and shooting’. My arse it is it’s shit. If a war happens and men are sent out to fight they are basically told ‘we don’t care bout you’. They are forced to kill people. It’s honest to god jaw dropping to see them survive like that. And even if their isn’t a war and it just training or some shit why shouldn’t women do it. You say men learn leadership. Isn’t that what women should learn to become more into their society. Also you say their are plenty of reasons for men to pussy out. Yeah if they do that then the amount of abuse some people will get is beyond fathomable

‘Man up’. You have said the Thing hate the most. As someone who has mood swings and cries easily it makes infuriates me beyond belief how society is so riled up against men. We are supposed to take everything but at some point we will break. And when we do the place is going to fall harder than a sack of bricks

[+]friedreindeer -20 points-19 points-18 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I was a conscript in the Finnish army, and it is basically shooting and camping, and all kind of other ridiculous stuff. No fear involved about going to real war. It’s not like joining the navy-seals. I can imagine, that in Denmark there is even less risk to go to real war. No need to overdramatize, it is basically scouts-camp for grown-ups.

Women can join, if they want the leadership experience.

In my opinion it is still a priceless experience for men. Our brains develop at a different pace, and at that age we are quite often lost. For some men the experience gives direction and is a stepping stone for a more independent life.

[–]JollyFawn90 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Tell that to the men who died in the Vietnam war and the world wars. You’ve got to be trolling.

[+]friedreindeer -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

We are talking about conscripts living in a peaceful country, that has totally no political interests in warmongering anywhere. The sole purpose of the system is to defend the country. If another nation attacks, every civilian is under distress, and will help defend even without military training. I understand this is difficult to understand from an American perspective.

[–]Razorbladekandyfan 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If its so benign add women to it.

[–]Frosty-Gate-8094 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Too late for it.. I think you havent got the 'gender equality memo'.

There is nothing that men can do but women cant. Fighting in military is just one of those things.

[–]XenoX101 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

There is nothing that men can do but women cant. Fighting in military is just one of those things.

No but let's be realistic, the average strength of a woman is far less than a man, among other things such as women on average being more emotional and of course having that time of the month which can be debilitating. I don't think women shouldn't be in the army, but I definitely don't think all women should, it would take a certain kind of woman that is especially strong and especially unemotional, such that she can handle the brutality of war as much as men can. Because war is about the most demanding, terrifying, dangerous thing a person can be involved in, it is not for the faint of heart and even many men I don't think are prepared both physically and mentally for the perils of war.

[–]JollyFawn90 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Too bad so sad. You think all men were ready to see the perils of war? The ones who pissed and shit themselves out of fear because they had never been on the battlefield. Nah women gotta tough up or die, feelings don’t play a factor in this. If men are forced to do it , women should too. You don’t get to just claim equality when it’s only the good stuff.

[+]Willing-Community-98 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Equip them with lighter weapons then. Pretty gold that people want to use gender stereotypes when it works for them.

[+]Willing-Community-98 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They’re not going to get special privileges just because they are “emotional”. Death is death no matter how emotional you are.

[–]denisc9918 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're right for fighting troops but women can fill any number of support roles.

[–]Frosty-Gate-8094 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

All these 'disadvantages' do not stop women from demanding equal pay in sports. or in jobs.
It doesnt stop the 'diversity quotas' in politics and film industry..

Why only does it matter the in military? If women can compete in sports as well as men. If women can outperform men in demanding action sequences.
They can surely learn to operate weapons..

Modern weapons are mostly semiautomatic or mechanised. It doesnt require brute strength.

If a woman fighter pilot can be equal to a male fighter pilot, then so can be said about artillery operators, or snipers.

And not to forget, that there are plenty of non-combat roles too, like supplier, spies, medics, etc where women are often overrepresented.

[–]XenoX101 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Carrying all that munition is where the difference in strength becomes apparent. From what I've heard the men tend to carry some of the women's luggage due to the sheer weight of it.

[–]Frosty-Gate-8094 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Same can be said in sports. Why women groups are demanding equal pay then?
Why cant they accept that men's sports are faster, more competitive and hence attracts more viewers?

Women are already there in most militaries. Nobody is questioning women's presence here.

Irrespective of your personal views, you will have to fight alongside women. (including all the disadvantages you mentioned).

The question is of compulsory service. If the latter is fair for men, then its certainly fair for women too.

[–]Large_Flatworm_460 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Its been like that since the vikings ages" if its right, why bother making any changes in society? and let it be the same

[–]JollyFawn90 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

every small difference in rights

Lol, being sent to war to die doesn’t seem like a small right. You are literally asked to risk your life, what bigger thing could you ask for?

If I’m gonna serve then they should serve too. It’s only fair. “Man up.” What a joke, women want equality, this is it. The good and the bad.

Do you tell women to “Woman up” when they don’t perform traditional duties?

[+]friedreindeer 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If my country is under attack, I’d rather have mostly men defending the borders, and most of the women taking care of the children and logistics. Or do you want it to have the other way around? That’s why most of the men are conscripts. War doesn’t look at equality.

[–]JollyFawn90 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Other way around? No. I want an equal chance of them going to the front lines. You can’t run a society on feminism and then throw that feminism out the window once terror strikes and have the men go die for the nation and claim that you must keep to traditional roles in that crisis. Or else your society is being run on a lie. Either traditional values are respected or they aren’t, you can’t have your cake and eat it too when it’s convenient.

[+]Willing-Community-98 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Uh nobody gets special privileges because of their gender sorry.

[+]Mechanik_J -36 points-35 points-34 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Egalitarianism isn't the answer. Women are the only humans that can make other humans. That's why they've been excluded from having to hunt, and fight.

[–]Blizzerac 21 points22 points23 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

except denmark's birth rate is 1.7 births per woman, which is below the minimum 2.1 needed to maintain population size. so they aren't even making enough other humans, as you suggest.

[–]Imissyourgirlfriend2 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Except feminists demand equality but as soon as they face equal responsibilities, they flake.

This is what equality looks like; either everyone gets drafted or no one gets drafted.

[–]W33PING-VIK1NG 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

What? The fuck are you saying bruv? Both men and women are required to make other humans; a woman can't give birth without the help of a man. Men are just as important as women are in procreation, even though biologically and physically women have to do more work in terms of procreation.

[–]Mechanik_J -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Im just stating the fact that any man can get a woman pregnant, but only women can get pregnant.

Do with that info what you want.

[–]phoenician_anarchist 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And any woman can become impregnated by a man, but only men can impregnate women.

Do with that info what you want.

(Am I doing this right?)

[–]Mechanik_J 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably.

[–]denisc9918 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How many sperm does 1 man have and how long can he produce healthy sperm?

It takes her 9mths to make usually 1 baby.

To repopulate or maintain population many more women are needed than men.

[–]phoenician_anarchist 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Woman make baby; Man fight and die.

Why is it that when people defend male-only conscription they always speak as if were still in the stone age? Modern technology has greatly reduced the percentage of the population required to become warriors (or to do anything else for that matter; e.g. farming). If the war is just and the cause worth dying for, more that enough men will gladly volunteer.

That's a waste of tax payers money...

[–]Imissyourgirlfriend2 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Out of all the abject corruption and waste of taxes in governments all over the world, this is what you wish you criticize?

[–]ThrowAway___0000000 -4 points-3 points-2 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup, in other cases of military corruption you get decent performance out of huge expenses, here you will only get huge expenses & because they can't get decent performance you will change the matric of calculating decent performance for their face saving.

So it's just goverment's way of sharing the small benefits male soldiers must be getting for serving in the military with women, it's not about empowering women, they know they can't perform, they will just take over the easy task after completing training with reduced metrics & enjoy "equal" benefits as male counterparts.
