r/MensRights isn't tribalistic. Everyone is welcome. We don't want extra favours, extra privileges or even extra rights, we want the same rights as everyone else and the abolishment of unfair rules and laws against men that ruin lives, even drive others to suicide. I personally want to equalize the aid provided to men and women, as when I dealt with my own mental health struggles including self harm, I've seen women get better care and more aid for lesser symptoms. I don't want to sound selfish, but there are SO many more men that commit suicide and yet, mental health is often prioritized to women.

This group is egalitarian, except we just focus on the men's side of things in this sub, because feminists aren't egalitarian, and there is no one to speak for us but ourselves. In many "egalitarian" groups I've seen, many of them focus on women's goals and either neglect men's rights and goals, or dismiss their issues entirely, which just means it's a feminist group with a misleading group name.

Absolutely everyone is welcome here as long as you're not a misandrist or a misogynist.

(As I write this, my Android phone does not recognize "misandrist" as a real word and has a red line under it, point in case I suppose.)

big issue, no doubt. it still feels like an feminine take on how men work and you dont have to transition to talk about feelings. but this is overall a big obstacle men face

Awesome it's amazing and soo very rare to see another men's rights mtf which is what I also am. Thanks for posting this and welcome to this community. I have also experienced the same things you have. After having lived as a masculine presenting male for 27 years life was way harder and people were not as nice and pleasant. After feminizing people are nicer, tension free small talk with men and women happens more, and the random acts of kindness and compliments blew me away. Female privilege is real.

EDIT: Yes if one looks at my profile and post history you'll see my pic at r/makeupformen and I have facial hair so I'm not out as female anymore. I lost access to HRT 3.5 years ago and started smoking again. Since nicotine increases testosterone in both men and women by 50-70% I'm not even doing feminizing herbs anymore as with nicotine they'd be useless. Once I quit smoking soon I'll get back on herbs at least until I get regular hrt going again. Surprisingly my face still passes as female when shaved don't know how but I love it!

If you want to earn respect you get that through sharing your thoughts, if those thoughts are typed out by a man or a woman is irrelevant.

I don't buy into any of this garbage. Especially this whole "men share a lot more with women" rhetoric. It's not true, it's never been true & it's never going to be true. Every man knows "sharing" with women, is the fastest way to get in the friendzone & lose respect.

Absolutely.

People whom have transitioned between the genders usually have some very interesting perspectives on how the system works (i.e. those who transition to men become acutely aware of how much is demanded of men and how little weight is given to men's psychological wellbeing).

I admit, I am skeptical about the validity/reality of "nonbinary" gender identities, but binary trans people clearly exist and are clearly not a political fad.

I am a transsex man, I’ve been researching about men’s issues long before I fully accepted myself as transsex. Misandry, transphobia and homophobia are closely tied together, the only way for all of us, men, to become free from societal oppression is to unite and fight together. Regardless of whether people here accept me, I would still be supporting men’s rights, not because I want my female privileges back, but because men are humans and deserve (real) equal rights, be free and treated with respect.
