Carter is a Christian. Circumcision is a "traditional" practice he is familiar with and supportive of. But, to him, doing something similar to a female is barbaric.

It's kind of hard to give a shit when they want to punish newborns for something they weren't around for. Especially when they ignore the cultures who cut ALL their children.

But it happens to women too, that's so much worse.

Hey, gents, this is a little off topic, but I have a couple questions for you.

I understand a lot of you were circumcised shortly after birth against your will (as was I) and aren't happy about it (I've had no complaints, personally). I also believe that people should be in control of their bodies and should have the choice of what to do with them. As such, I don't plan on getting my sons circumcised and waiting until they are old enough to make the decision themselves. Here's my question: I don't know anything about being uncut, so what, if anything, do I need to teach my future sons?

Oh come on guys. Male circumcision is proven to hinder the spread of HIV/AIDS, which might be the #1 problem facing Africa. It also has nothing to do with sexual desire. Female circumcision has no health benefits- it's solely mutilation and sexual oppression. This doesn't belong here. It's not a man vs. woman. I think we can all, even men, get behind anti-female circumcision. I don't think we should force circumcision on men either, but the question is about health, not sexism.

Male and female circumcision are so different they hardly can be compared. If we were talking about gilding male children then we'd be talking about similar things.
