Sunday more /r/all visitors suck giant donkey balls. I am sure you idiots have somewhere else to be today.

Well today we are discussing false rape claims. To fucking idiot feminists these do not exist. And if they do the false accuser should be given a pass because if she was not raped in the specific incident shit is still the victim. The logic is astounding and ever more proof of the moral bankruptcy that is modern feminism.

Well this case at least she caught a felony case. Until recently evil fucks like her would most likely get a stern talking to and sent on her way.

AThe thing that is particularly evil about this cunt is not only did she drop a false rape claim she added in some extra flavor by bringing in the 3 black boogey men. So she is also a pond feeder racist. All racists of every color are scum. She should have a hate crime added to her charges. Fuck her /r/racistpassdenied.

So go on /r/all. Enjoy your stay. This is no echo chamber sub. Nobody is going to ban you for spewing your dumb fuck SJW bullshit. Please try and defend this racist lying piece of shit stain of a person.

Also we are getting called a nazi sub. I guess you fools dropping reports do not know the history of this mod team and our thoughts and actions against idiot racists like the Altright and BLM. A racist is a racist regardless of skin color.

This is such a B.S.. I work in the taxi industry and over the last few years we have installed cameras in all of our taxis. This year alone we had about 10 complaints of sexual assault filed to the police. Every single one was completely false and the passenger lied every time to the police. But every single time the police refuse to file charges against the women. The last time they gave us the excuse "She was drunk" well they had no problem taking her false statement while she was drunk and they were going to charge our driver with assault on that drunk statement.

This needs to get out, the narrative that these liars are spinning, that we need to accept claims of rape without evidence needs to end. That asking for proof is misogynistic. But it won't happen if people just post text without any proof, your claim as about as valid as theirs without proof.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Next time let it go all the way to to court, then drop the video evidence

[–]Pseudonymble 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I'ma use that "but I was drunk" excuse ... I'm sure if it's good enough for this woman, it'll work out fine for#MeToo... :/

Feminists are going to hate what I'm about to say but here goes: I've investigated dozens of sexual assault allegations and have assisted in dozens more with a fellow detective who handles our sex offender registry. I've also worked with our county prosecutors office sex crimes division. False claims of sexual assault are as prevalent as real ones. A (female) prosecutor argued that they are actually more likely to be false than true. Reasons: revenge, cheating on a boyfriend/nhusband then claiming rape when he finds out, attention seeking, extortion, guilt over a one night stand, and one I had was a girl who was homesick at college and made the claim, got her tuition reimbursed and credit for the courses she left mid semester. We don't charge because we want real victims to speak up without fear of being revictimized by the legal system. The flipside is most detectives who work sex crimes become sceptical of every claimant because of the liars and the men who are accused have no recourse. It sucks.

[–]dukunt 16 points17 points18 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No surprises there. Still horrific tho. I am amazed at the fact that a woman can point at a man and accuse him of raping her knowing full well that he didn't. Some women are cold AF.

[–]Throwthowk 48 points49 points50 points 8 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Thanks for the truth bomb!

False accusing bitches are fucking disgusting scum that need to be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

[–]rg90184 30 points31 points32 points 8 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

IMO they are just as bad as the actual rapists. Both destroy lives.

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points21 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I'm probably going to get murdered for this, but I think false accusations are worse than actual rape, you can move on and get help from being raped, you cant do anything about being locked up. One is a horrible experience and the other is decades of torture

[–]rg90184 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

As someone who has been the victim of both. You're technically right. (thankfully she only spread rumors and never took it to a legal battle) but the point stands. I would have been looking at my youth flushed down the drain in a state prison if she had gone to the cops with her accusation. I would have lost upwards of 15 years of my life at the young age of 18.

That damage is easy to quantify. There's a number of lost time, there's the easy to point to loss of family and friends, there's the severe disadvantage to function in society upon getting out. There's no way in hell I'd be able to hack it on my own, especially with a rape conviction on my head. I probably would have killed myself in prison. Because what hope is there?

On the other hand, I was raped at 8 by my soccer coach. Nobody believed me until a year later when the man's wife walked in on him fucking their daughter (who is my age) It's hard to say how much it shaped the fucked up person I am today, it's difficult to quantify what issues I have and figure out if that was the reason, or if I would have this issue, or that issue regardless. The damage is certainly there. No amount of therapy will let me get over it completely, but the damage is indeed there and always will be.

But at least I have the life I do, and people I care about. At least I don't have a false accusation following me forever, holding me back from any success in life. At least I have that I suppose.

So, yes, you're right.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Thank you for the reply, you said it a lot better than I ever could. I am also a victim of rape, and my younger sister was raped when I was in the house, I was 11 years old at the time, Had no Idea what was happening up stairs... I agree you really never get completely over this kind of trauma, for me knowing what happened to my sister and i could have stopped it is 100 times worse than anything that has ever happened to me. She got therapy for it, I didn't. She is great now, I am hanging on to life by a thread.

At least I am not in prison though

[–]rg90184 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I am hanging on to life by a thread.

Hey, if you need to talk, just DM me. Shit is rough bro.

I think what made the false accusation by that ex worse, is that she knew what happened to me.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I appreciate the sentiment, but I don't think talking will help anymore

Wow that is beyond fucked up, I am so sorry that happened to you. Some people are just evil.

[–]rg90184 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Happens, the world is a terrible place with a lot of horrible people. and you've just gotta carve out what little joy you can before you die.

[–]kellykebab 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

If a full half of the claims you see are false, the strategy of never punishing these accusers is clearly failing.

The girl who had tuition reimbursed surely committed fraud in that case, correct? I hope at least she was charged.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

She was not. Though that wasn't my choice. Again it's that we don't want to charge, but their are a number of advocacy groups, in addition to members of the prosecutors office, that feel making very public arrests of false accusers could hinder the real victims from reporting. Keep in mind, most people are apt to believe that false reports are rare, (as much was stated by the writer of that Rolling Stone article. So public opinion takes over. The police get vilified for going after a girl who's been sexually assaulted and other victims will refuse to report out of fear of the same fate. So these false accusers actually do damage on multiple levels and walk away without being prosecuted to boot.

[–]kellykebab 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If false accusation were really a small percentage of the total number of accusations, I would understand the unwillingness to prosecute.

If they are truly a full 50% of all accusations, as you say, there is clearly a substantial social problem running in parallel with actual sexual assault.

Even if you didn't go after every case, how in the world is there no stomach to prosecute individuals who have literally stolen thousands of dollars to fund their education by trivializing a heinous crime? That's insane.

As far as the PR goes, you would basically sell the prosecution of certain cases of false accusations as maintaining the integrity of sexual assault prosecution. Isolating the false cases from the true would make it easier to go after the true and would inspire more confidence in the system among the general public.

I don't understand how enabling the perversion of the investigative process of these crimes is a sustainable long-term strategy.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

From a law enforcement perspective its infuriating. But standards are set by AG guidelines and prosecutors who are essentially lawyers. Victim advocacy groups and lawyers are not police officers. only Prosecutors who work in sex crimes are aware of the pervasiveness of false accusations. Understand the litigious society we live in, the negative view of law enforcement, the benefit of the doubt given to young female "victims" and the outrage something like rape incites. Then take into account the accuser's friends and family support, media support and the effect of tossing that victim in jail without being able to explain the facts due to having an ongoing investigation and it clearly becomes advisable (to the lawyers, prosecutors and even municipal leaders) to dismiss the cases rather than prosecute and draw the ire of, well, everyone. an excerpt from the Rolling Stone article by the brilliant and well-sourced Ms. Sabrina Erdely, "Through our 20-plus hours of interviews over the course of several months, I found her to be forthright and credible. Jackie was voluble and confident, and she gave detailed descriptions that were consistent over time. … I also knew, from my own research and writing on this issue, that false allegations of sexual assault are VERY RARE.” Btw, "Jackie: the false accuser, wasn't charged. And Erdely kept her job. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Rape_on_Campus

[–]WikiTextBot 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A Rape on Campus

"A Rape on Campus" is a Rolling Stone magazine article, written by Sabrina Erdely and originally published on November 19, 2014, that describes a purported group sexual assault at the University of Virginia (UVA). Rolling Stone retracted the story in its entirety on April 5, 2015.

The article claimed that a UVA student, identified only as "Jackie" by the magazine, had been taken to a party hosted by the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity at UVA by a fellow student. At the party, Jackie alleged in the article, her date led her to a bedroom where she was raped by several fraternity members as part of an initiation rite.

the effect of tossing that victim in jail without being able to explain the facts due to having an ongoing investigation and it clearly becomes advisable

I'm confused here. Clearly, the strategy would be to fully investigate an accusation, deem it false, and then, if there were evidence to show the accuser acted intentionally and maliciously, turn around and charge her. Presumably, the original investigation into her (or his) claim would already be closed. Am I mistaken?

I am aware of the Rolling Stones fiasco. Pretty unbelievable. I would imagine that if the article covered any other topic, the reporter would almost definitely have been fired. Does anyone know why Jackie even concocted this account in the first place?

Nah, if you call in to question anyone's rape claims then you are clearly a scumbag. Any woman should be able to put a man in jail if they feel like it.

IMO it shouldn't be public knowledge what somebody was arrested for until after the trial. If they are found innocent not guilty nobody needs to know.

But but he took her sex!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And have the media refrain from disclosing anything that is under investigation.

[–]seahawkguy 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I would like to think that if she faced real prison time she would t have lied in the first place

[–]Supes_man -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed. Much as I want the false allegations to have much stronger charges, that will only make things worth.

If this woman was going to be facing jail time if she admitted to lying, then no way would she ever admit it. She’d double down and the actual victim would be even more screwed.

We need to start looking at things from “what is best for the victim” mindsets instead of “how can we punish the criminal as much as possible,” because they are often two very VERY different things.

[–]Insomniacrobat 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I was wrongfully accused of rape once. Luckily nothing ever came of it and the police didn't get involved, probably because the girl spreading the accusations was batshit crazy, but still, it was a very uncomfortable and really fucked up thing to go through.

[–]rg90184 12 points13 points14 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I've been through the same, she started spreading the rumor as an excuse as to why we broke up (the real reason is because she cheated on me with that asshat Dennis (I mean, really? of all the guys, it had to be fucking Dennis)) But didn't want to take a hit to her reputation. So I'm thrown under the bus in the worst way.

Needless to say, it was not a fun time in my life at all.

[–]Insomniacrobat 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It had to be Dennis. Because of the implication.

(Sorry, couldn't help but throw in an Always Sunny reference)

You can sit in county for up to 2-3 years.

[–]TheSJWing 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You can sit in county for that long on different consecutive counts. You cannot sit in county jail on one count for 2-3 years.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ya you can. If you are waiting on a bed to open in DOC. I know from personal experience. You still get timed served of course.

[–]instaweed 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I've got homies in the county waiting over a year for their trial to even start lol.

[–]TheSJWing 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah as the OP said you sit in county waiting for trial or plea dates. I didn’t disagree with that part. Maybe your homies should post bail.

[–]Clobstudios 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She used sex as a weapon to try to destroy someone’s life. She should face the exact same punishment as the person she falsely accused.

Years in prison/being placed on the registry.

If women who do this would face the risk of being on the registry with a list of their crimes like men do this shit would stop.

Egalitarianism over Feminism!

[+]Haydentk -6 points-5 points-4 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Novel incoming, I do apologize for the lengthiness of my reply;

By the clinical definition, doesn't one have to be a feminist if they are egalitarian? I'll probably get down-voted into the bowls here - but thats akin to saying "Inalienable rights over freedom of speech!" or better yet, "emergency services over fire departments!". We've got an increasingly uneducated/ hyperventilating brand of feminism developing in this (4th?) wave...we need to correct it, so that it is useful for woman's rights.

I speak with the women of Somalia, Sudan, Egypt, and Ethiopia in mind - the ones who have their vaginas mutilated for the express crime of simply being born a woman. The women of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Pakistan, etc who cannot travel, shop, attend school, or leave the house without consent from their male guardian. Dina Ali, Amnah Aljuaid, who this year attempted to flee the KSA & were apprehended by sympathetic governments, returned to their families in the KSA, and likely made the victims of honor-killings simply for the crime of being a woman traveling w/o male guardian permission.

There needs to be a dedicated form of activism, and a dedicated ideology - feminism - to tackle these unique issues women face around the world.

When egalitarianism zeroes in on specific issues, that particular genus of activism (if you will) receives a name. Gender Egalitarianism, when disabusing women, is called feminism. When disabusing men, is sometimes called masculinism or MRA. Then theres Sexual Egalitarianism, Racial/ Ethnic Egalitarianism, Religious Egalitarianism, and many more which are subsets of the larger - and uselessly vague term - Egalitarianism.

From one egalitarian to another, I just think what you said was a divisive non-sequitur that at best, sounded kinda cool.

[–]Throwthowk 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Feminism is just a subsection of Egalitarianism when you look at it, so it's better to be Egalitarianism since it's a catch-all definition of equality for all humans no matter your sex, race or anything.

[–]Haydentk 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Arguing pro-feminism on r/pussypassdenied was probably a misstep on my part, so I'll take the downvotes kindly.

I appreciate the measured response by the way.

Yes - thats my point. What I'm saying is that Feminism is one of the many Egalitarian efforts. Egalitarianism is not a movement per-se, it is a sentiment. It manifests itself through a variety of specific applications of disabuse - some focus on women, some on minorities, some on homosexuals. I hope I'm communicating that effectively.

Yes it is better to be egalitarian. But cutting off the nose to spite the face - or some reverse order of that - is what "Egalitarianism over Feminism" accomplishes. To see a specific group being disabused - women in this case - and wave tour hands saying "No, disabuse everyone" is counterintuitive.

I'll quote Christopher Hitchens in saying; "beware of making the best the enemy of the good". That is to say - and you'll have to forgive me if my explaining this quote is patronizing in any way - don't undermine a good thing because it is not the best thing.

[–]ShwayNorris 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The problem is that so many radical Feminists are in the public eye via Youtube, Twitter, Tumblr and other social media. Especially to anyone that maintains an active online presence. With little to no distancing being done by the rest of the movement to say "No, we don't agree with this". When such toxicity is allowed to thrive it effects how the entire movement is viewed by those outside of it. I readily identified as a Feminist a little over a decade ago, these days I have to say I'm much more on the side of "Feminism is Cancer". Egalitarianism itself has no such baggage. Take from that what you will.

[–]Haydentk 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thats a fair point, and something I struggle with as an Egalitarian (and Feminist by association). Theres an important conversation to be had about the misrepresentation/ perversion of Feminism as both a word & an ideology. I see the word worth reclaiming, while you may see abandoning it more viable - which may be more reasonable.

You'll notice I talk mostly about the women who REALLY need to be disabused in my prior comments. I'm American, and I have neither the time nor the energy to waste on the 'feminists' in my country who are still struggling to understand the difference between wages and earnings (the whole "women make $0.67 on the male dollar" trope). The self proclaimed "intersectional feminists" who are in bed with Islam, and fail to address its detriment to non-American women because they think critiquing Islam makes them racist or bigoted.

There are women who still need to be liberated and granted the legal/ sexual liberties afforded to women in the west by the 1st and 2nd waves of Feminism. Unfortunately the majority of these western 'feminists' (despite claiming to be intersectional) have no interest in woman's liberties beyond expressing vitriol and petty spitefulness towards an imaginative cabal of "cisgendered white males" or what have you. All the while calling Islam & Linda Sarsour's dumbass Hijab a beacon of liberty lol.

I'd imagine we share a similar hatred for this toxicity you mentioned, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

[–]ShwayNorris 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Reading this I agree that we probably share many similair views. I also think that many feminists are caught up in identity politics involving perceived racism, the wage gap myth, etc. I would by much more sympathetic to the movement if it was actively working on real human rights issues such as those you mention in the Middle East, as well as Africa, and much of South East Asia. One of the few real Feminists left worth paying attention to is Christina Hoff Sommers. She tries to speak sense to the rest of the movement, and makes a lot of great arguments/points.

[–]Reiseoftheginger -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In a radio show about the situation and age of consent, he said he was underage and enjoyed it. but chicks like this one waste time, money and discourages victims from coming forward because of fear they're lying.

Your logic doesn't make sense to me. Surely if you're a victim you'd be more worried that your story "doesn't add up" and now you're facing charges for lying.

[–]macthefire 36 points37 points38 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

While I understand that this is going to be some peoples knee jerk reaction you'll see that it isn't the case at closer inspection. Just because there is a lack of evidence doesn't necessarily mean the alleged victim lied. In these cases there is evidence to show that the former plaintiff sought to lie about the allegation.

[+]Dominub -7 points-6 points-5 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Was it the case in this one? All the video said is that the police department realized the story didn't add up.

They didn't mention proof that shows she lied.

The burden of proof isnt on the alleged rapist. He or she has been accused of something that they may not even have done. False rape accusations should be held at the same level as rape charges because thats what they wanted to inflict upon this other person ruining their life. It should only be fair that false rape claims should also carry atleast some of that gravity.

[–]MrBallsackEyesFake news 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I would much rather be raped than convicted of rape, and I was actually raped as a child so I know what the fuck I’m talking about. A rape conviction destroys your whole life.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

who wants to spend their life in prison? getting raped doesn't sound fun but it sounds better than that if only for the difference in duration.

[–]CatDaddy09 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No. Just like any other crime there should be evidence.

[–]Dominub -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They didn't talk about evidence in the video. They just said "the story doesn't add up"

[–]Uhh_Political 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you were raped, don't shower or anything. Call the police and then go through the proper protocol. They can trace the rapists DNA on your body and you can use that as proof in the trail.

Testimony on the other hand is hard to validate..

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It is why the notion of "rape culture" exists. Some chicks believe that they shouldn't come forward with rape because there is that chance no one believes them. And that, in turn, causes feminists to hone in on things like saying it's victim blaming or whatever.

In reality, fake rape accusations definitely are part of the problem for real victims. Whether you believe in rape culture or not, (actual) rape victims not coming forward is a thing. Unfortunately.

[–]zue3 101 points102 points103 points 8 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

Women are always assumed to have "made a simple mistake" but men are always treated guilty right from the outset. This is a prevalent attitude in society and it needs to change.

Just look at this comment I found in a different thread today:https://www.reddit.com/r/UpliftingNews/comments/7fl98e/interpol_40_human_traffickers_arrested_236/dqcvu8r/.

Edit: Now this bitch is doubling down on her attitude and of course some one brings up "white male victimhood" as the end all argument like it legitimizes this insanity.

"But it's from Milo"

Killing the messenger is actually the number one tactics from the alt-left to ignore sources... instead of doing the adult thing to actually look at the claims and the facts. It's much easier for them to deny everything because they're lazy.

Usually when someone points out the messenger is probably bias... it's because they know the story is probably true and have no way to counter it.

Basically anyone saying "oh it's from X" automatically lost the argument.

Also, another source from "left media". (Warning though, it's those idiot Young Turks that quickly turn this into a racist rambling)

[–]Oiqlele -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

instead of doing the adult thing to actually look at the claims and the facts.

But as usual the facts are wrong. Every other source speaks of up to 10 years. Milo pulled 32 out of his ass because he is nothing but a troll. People usually ignore what he says, not because they want to "kill the messenger", but because it's not worth anyone's time to search through his piles of bullshit on the off chance that some of it might be useful and true information.

[–]Dawknight 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And how does 10 to 32 years change the narrative here exactly?

We want to know if the story is real or not. We can then pull out the facts and now we all know exactly what happened. Isn't that great? Instead of automatically calling the story fake because of op's original source.

People need to think more.

I told my friends thinking they'd support me and have my back, but for a few months they made jokes out of it. Playing games, out in public, I'd be referred to as the rapist. [–]Yung_Jungian 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I suspect that far more than 10% of claims are false simply because the cost of raping someone is huge and the cost of accusing someone of rape is almost nonexistent most of the time.

[–]lordsmish 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Even if you are right it changes little. I'm happy to accept the 10% figure as fact.

The important thing to recognise is the amount of claims that dont go to the police. A man can be destroyed by the mention of the word rape without the legal system being involved.

[–]snpaa 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Even if you are right it changes little. I'm happy to accept the 10% figure as fact.

A subreddit is made up of a variety of different people who don't necessarily believe the same things. When a post hits /r/all then you get a whole bunch of other people who are not normally part of the subreddit noticing the posts and things can get even more chaotic.

The best a subreddit can offer is a topic of discussion, some specific rules for the subreddit, and a moderator team. The community is it's own thing.

[–]MAGICAL_SCHNEK 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, Mr Obvious... This is different though, my comment was downvoted despite being far down in the comments and the post itself didn't have many upvotes at that time.

I would assume that it was mostly redditors from this sub that downvoted me, because now that the post has many more upvotes, i am being upvoted by redditors from r/all.

In general milo yiannopoulos seems to be quite accurate with his reporting, which makes him an infuriating character for the left as a gay conservative. His flamboyance and humor make it worse. It's this same flamboyance and talking about his sex life that makes him distasteful to many on the right.

I always kinda liked the guy.

But to name one example, he once wrote an article about neil degrasse tyson blaming racism for the reason he didn't succeed/graduate at his first university.

It even included a link to its source. However the source claimed the exact opposite, that Neil degrasse tyson said it wasn't racism but iirc a lack of discipline on his own part. My attempts to get a correction were in vain.

On the whole I consider him a very necessary criticism to the left media, as he is very good in pointing out their double standards. His reporting isn't less factual than many journalists that people routinely accept as truthful.

Some people are careful with their words and don't accuse others of being pedophiles with no evidence.

And some people post stupid shit on reddit.

No, you're right, he's right, people mature at different rates but that's not what we're talking about.

He's talking about how at the time he was mature enough for the relationship and doesn't have an issue for other people in a similar situation.

It's like saying "I have no issue with the murder laws, but I'm okay with people killing each other"

Except it isn't in any way at all.

Pedophilia or paedophilia is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children.

up to 50%.

Your source says "they generally agree on 2-10%." And we're talking about instances that a provable to a degree that they are celebrated in places like this. If you actually believe that "up to 50%" of instances of reported rape are false you should legitimately question your worldview. You may be letting personal insecurities about your relationship and gender get in the way of objective truth. There are essentially countless psychological and biological conditions that may compel a person may rape or assault someone, while there are relatively few psychological and biological conditions that may compel a person to needlessly turn their life upside with empty rape accusations. The problem with focusing exclusively on people that abuse the system, and the problem with wildly skewing your perception of frequency, is that you're potentially unwittingly setting yourself up to automatically assume that the system is bad and victims are actually the bad guys. If you don't see how this is a toxic way to approach the subject you're pretty lost in this hivemind. Men can be victims of rape. And creating a social norm where victims of rape are assumed to be lying is an issue that negatively impacts men too.

[–]handbanana12I support false rape accusers. Women cant lie -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Do you now agree that that is most likely way too low?

Nope. In this instance I am only assuming guilt on the principles of innocence until proven guilty. In terms of what can be legally proven, there are literally dozens of provable and actionable false accusations of rape ayear. And in terms of what is statistically implied, the federal government believes that less than 40% of rapes are reported at all, so the idea that we should be actively seeking out and celebrating instances where unproven accusations are criminally punished is generally problematic for a bunch of reasons.

I don't think enough of you consider the psychology and motivation behind these 2 different human behaviors, and are generally conditioning yourselves to not have rational empathy. Rape and sexual assault are an outcome of impulsive sexual drive and compulsion, which is something that millions of people don't have control of. Falsely and publicly accusing someone of rape is a very specific, often delusional behavior that is indicative of relatively rare personality disorders or lack of intelligence. Overwhelmingly people would prefer to not be publicly known as a rape victim, even actual rape victims may keep it to themselves to avoid the continued traumatic stress and embarrassment associated with filing rape complaints against other people. People that maliciously and knowingly accuse someone of raping them essentially always have delusional histrionic or narcissistic disorders that only affect an incredibly small segment of the population. On the other hand rape is an extension of sex, which people (especially men) are biologically driven towards, often in spite of their own morality or impulse control abilities.

Can you empathize with and see situations where you would falsely accuse someone of raping you? Probably not.

Can you empathize with and see situations where you would potentially "take it too far" or let your frustrations get the better of you or misinterpret the mood or any other situation where you may legally sexually violate someone else? Probably a little.

So for false rape accusations you only count those convicted in a court.

In that instance yes.

But for rape you include the cases that were not even reported to the police.

Yes. I'm citing all available data. Even if "2-10" percent of instances of reported rape are unfounded or false, we're still talking about hundreds of thousands of instances of rape, according to DOJ statistics. And when you actually look at the behavior in terms of "innocent until proven guilty" we're literally talking about dozens of instances of people being found guilty of crimes related to false allegations of rape.

The methods by which the total number of rapes are estimated are sound, while most of the data on unproven "false accusations" are often not super reliable for a variety of reasons. Often it's complaints that didn't have evidence and were seen as "unfounded" and not investigated, and there's no way to meaningfully determine the actual prevalence of legitimately false claims as a result. Which is why you resort to availability heuristics in the first place. If there was sound statistical support you wouldn't need muh recallable examples.

[–]_cortex 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_accusation_of_rape#Estimates_of_prevalence

Can't tell if trolling, but those numbers are literally wrong. No estimate comes close to being as low as only "literally dozens of false accusations" vs. "hundreds of thousands of actual instances of rape a year" (< .00001%). Some estimates confound "unfounded" claims with "proven false", but some of the studies listed on Wikipedia do account for that and they still end up with single digit percentages.

Maybe question whether trusting facebook propaganda from Milo is in your best interests. Maybe question if political agitators could be exploiting your insecurities to make you more compliant.

Maybe you should question your own sources and insecurities, given they don't match up with reality at all

[–]kaizervonmaanen 35 points36 points37 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I would not claim there are only dozens of false accusations. False accusations are very common. If the blamed part as some alibi then the "victim" changes the date it happens and all sorts of nonsense even if the so-called "victim" does not know the defendant.

I have seen such ridiculous displays myself against my friend. Thankfully my friend had good a good alibi with tons of witnesses despite how many times the date was changed, one of the dates claimed he even was in police custody the whole day, other dates he was on the other side of the country with 20+ witnesses and so on. In the end the case was rejected for insufficient evidence, but any girl who wants to can put any man in jail if she's lucky with the dates involved and the person is not doing anything in particular and it is perfectly common to lie about it to get street cred.

[–]thehighground 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not to mention times when a girl only says it's rape after consenting to sex, that shit blew my mind the first time it happened

[–]kaizervonmaanen 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well... "No" means no and "yes" also means no most of the time. You need written consent and at least two witnesses (most cultures demand that one of the witnesses to the signing of the contract is the father.) who also sign the contract. Most societies have something like that. It is one of the reasons why marriage exists in all cultures except mainly in the west where it's seen as old-fashioned and only something that is done after years of sex.

Without solid legal backing then any consent is meaningless because she might change her mind and not tell you that she changed her mind, which makes it rape.

I would not claim there are only dozens of false accusations.

There are.

False accusations are very common.

Your perception of them is very common.

If the blamed part as some alibi then the "victim" changes the date it happens and all sorts of nonsense even if the so-called "victim" does not know the defendant.

That's fine. And what if a "victim" actually was raped and actually did misremember dates? What if you were raped and you got the details wrong? What if you were raped and you constantly saw circlejerks like this one celebrating when people get punished for getting details wrong? Would you be more or less likely to risk your livelihood coming forward with an accusation?

I have seen such ridiculous displays myself against my friend.

Availability heuristic. I don't care about you are your friend I care about relative frequency and your perception of reality, and you understanding that you're implicitly supporting a social framework that more often functions to protect rapists than prevent false accusations of rape. At least you are getting down voted pretty hard.

I'm purposefully challenging the perception of reality among a delusion-reinforcing hivemind. The fact that I'm getting downvoted for this is kind of the point brah. It's upsetting to the circlejerk to be reminded of unpleasant truths.

Loads of these stories get linked here but even more in /r/pussypass

Again. AVAILABILITY HEURISTIC BRAH. Being able to recall "loads" of specific instances of behavior doesn't matter when you're trying to determine the actual frequency of the behavior, particularly relative to another overwhelmingly more prevalent behavior. There aren't subreddits that provide "loads" of instances of actual rapes because there are so many rapes that there's nothing sensational about it.

So keep dropping your logical fallacy classifications

Availability heuristic isn't fallacy it's distorted perception of frequency caused by being able to recall "loads of these stories."

like you are the first ever to learn them.

You clearly have no idea what I'm talking about m8. Which is why I'm trying to explain it.

Hey listen. If you are comfortable in dismissing all fake rape claims as statistically insignificant that is on you. To me a person is morally bankrupt if they can stomach someones life being ruined and getting jail time because we as a society decide to carte blanche believe the accuser.

SJWs and Feminists have pushed the rape narrative into the extreme. Removing consent months or years after an event. Title IX implementations on college campuses removing due process is an assault on the entire legal system. All that happens is real victims cases get caught up in all this noise and are less likely to be taken seriously. Certainly not more likely which is what we all want.

By you commenting and dismissing false rape claims you are not on the side of real victims which makes you the problem and certainly not a supporter of a solution.

But by all means you do you. The world needs twisted fuck wits for the rest of us sain people to mock.

If you are comfortable in dismissing all fake rape claims as statistically insignificant that is on you.

I'm not. Your desperate need to reframe a conversation so that you're addressing a strawman is specifically on you.

To me a person is morally bankrupt if they can stomach someones life being ruined and getting jail time because we as a society decide to carte blanche believe the accuser.

I don't care about you or your feelings. You're tacitly supporting a system where someone's life can be ruined if they accuse someone of rape and can't prove it, regardless of whether or not they actually were raped. And you support that system by highlighting literally dozens of instances where the system was abused by mentally ill people.

SJWs and Feminists

Strawmen. Tribalism. You justify your radical position by seeking out radical people on "the other side."

have pushed the rape narrative into the extreme.

No your perception has been that they've pushed it to the extreme because you consume media like this that is designed to skew your understanding of frequency of events.

All that happens is real victims cases get caught up in all this noise and are less likely to be taken seriously.

What you fail to realize is that systematically "real victims cases" have historically not been "taken seriously." And as a result "SJWs and Feminists" have "pushed the rape narrative" as a way to address that.

Certainly not more likely which is what we all want.

I don't think you really understand "what we all want."

By you commenting and dismissing false rape claims

I'm not. You tell yourself I am because you don't have an intellectually honest position and you're struggling.

you are not on the side of real victims

No true scotsmen. Based on a false premise too. You're actively shilling against "we as a society" putting more trust in the likelihood that a rape victim isn't just maliciously lying to ruin somebody's life.

and certainly not a supporter of a solution.

You don't have a solution. And you're an unambiguous part of the problem.

But by all means you do you.

Thanks for your permission.

The world needs twisted fuck wits

lol projection.

It's spelled "sane" you fucking idiot. Pretty ironic given how prone you are to delusional thought.

Also ironic that someone that relies so heavily on intentionally misrepresenting what other people say would think that lying about rape is a bigger deal than rape. Rape is bad, lying about rape is bad.

Sure.

People who do either of those should be punished

But this sub isn't "punishing" anyone. You're celebrating availability heuristics to skew your perception of frequency of one type of crime, while also reinforcing the belief that another type of crime is less frequent, while also projecting a social environment that is more likely to prevent victims of rape from being motivated to come forward. You're literally celebrating that someone that made an allegation of rape may face 32 years in prison as a result of being incapable of proving that their allegation was true, which is explicitly victim shaming behavior and implicitly behavior that makes it easier to commit rape and get away with it.

It is not a competition.

I absolutely agree. Which is why I'm pointing out that even with the most accommodating numbers, the number of people that falsely accuse others of rape every year is in the hundreds or low thousands. And the number of people that get raped is in the hundreds of thousands, with only a minority of them ever reporting it.

If you were raped, do you think you would be more or less likely to file a criminal complaint against your abuser knowing that it could ruin your life if you can't prove it?

EDIT: Also, do you actually see sexual assault as being equal to telling a lie?

Has nothing to do with with labeling fallacies and muh identity politics. This is an issue specifically related to observable human behavioral science and it's applications in the criminal justice system and problems that arise from over-exposure to specific behaviors that skew public perception of the frequency of events and how they can lead to self-defeating beliefs rooted in delusion.

You should question why you've been conditioned to dismiss and depersonalize confronting thought by retreating to labels and strawmen to justify why your understanding of reality may be inaccurate or manipulated. How much is "Liberalism" just some vague concept that you assign to anything that challenges your worldview? Can you anticipate or imagine contexts where a person that is conditioned to think that everything that disagrees with with them can be dismissed as political tribalism may lead to them believing things that aren't real? Do you see no potential problems in approaching your interpretation of reality and justifying your behavior as being in opposition to vague boogieman labels that you've been taught to dislike?

How broad has "Liberalism" gotten for you that you think that an empirical attempt to interpret data and understand human behavior falls into that ideology? And if "Liberalism" is the attempt to rationally approach complex issues by focusing on objective data-driven statistics, self-critical meta-analysis, and the desire to stay intellectually consistent in a pragmatically empathetic way, what the fuck are you?

Availability heuristic

The availability heuristic is a mental shortcut that relies on immediate examples that come to a given person's mind when evaluating a specific topic, concept, method or decision. The availability heuristic operates on the notion that if something can be recalled, it must be important, or at least more important than alternative solutions which are not as readily recalled. Subsequently, under the availability heuristic, people tend to heavily weigh their judgments toward more recent information, making new opinions biased toward that latest news.

The availability of consequences associated with an action is positively related to perceptions of the magnitude of the consequences of that action.

So because the person it's hosted on is someone you don't like, it's now completely false.

Seems legit.
