So basically her argument is that joking about rape causes rape, but her explicitly ignoring and trying to draw attention away from a sizable number of rapists to pretend all rapists are men isn't worse than that.

Okay. We'll stop telling rape jokes, and we'll stop calling males rapists when they rape people and pretend none of them ever do it. Happy now? Ofcourse not, that would be incredibly awful and sexist of us, wouldn't it. This is a good example of how feminism has rotted this persons brain and capacity for empathy and the kind of priorities that result from that.

Gallows humor? Unacceptable.

Vilifying a demographic and saying they are collectively responsible for rape at the same time you draw attention away from rapists from your own demographic (Ones who aren't often charged or imprisoned I might add), and help to keep a sexist status quo? That's obviously fine, feminism told me so.

Tell you what miss, i'll accept this notion of collective responsibility for rape you're offering, but I reckon someone who screams "They went thatta way!" and lying about it might, just might, be more culpable in a crime than a comedian. Framing rape as a male perpetrated issue? You're helping female rapists escape justice.

The author is an idiot and doesn't understand dark humor. The reason (good) rape jokes are funny is precisely because we find the act so appalling. This also applies to eg jokes about the holocaust.
Feminists need to look up the term "collective punishment." When used during conflicts between states it's a war crime. No, not all men are responsible for the tiny percentage of men who rape, any more than all women are responsible for the tiny percentage of women who throw their babies in dumpsters.
Women coerce men into sex just as often as vice versa.

Saying that men as a group are to blame for sexual violence is no less insulting than saying that women as a group are to blame for sexual violence. Besides already blaming innocent men of rape, this kind of ignorant article both victim blames men who have themselves been the victims of sexual violence, and gives a pass to women who are the perpetrators

People need to stop perpetuating the rape myths that say only male-perpetration is a social issue and that female victims are the most important

How does someone this stupid get to write for the Independent? Sexual predators have MANY victims, as can be seen in the case of Harvey Weinstein. Even if ALL women were rape victims, that would still most men in the clear as we KNOW that most rapes are committed by serial rapists like Weinstein and Cosby. People are allowed to spout any dumb shit these days, as long as it's about men.
