Interesting that they're giving tickets away before the movie even opens. That plus the fact that they've been working extra hard on marketing the movie suggests to me that Marvel knows they have a problem on their hands. The projected box office numbers must be looking very soft. If they thought it was going to be a big seller they wouldn't be doing all these special deals, giveaways, group discounts etc.

I've never understood why being a female alone means you're in a "protected class" with no consideration of other factors - income, education, etc.

A wealthy, highly educated white women qualifies for endless government and corporate handouts because she's "oppressed", but a dirt poor white boy growing up in a trailer park shithole is "privileged" and gets nothing.

This is in Malaysia where I'm from. We are a mildly traditional conservative society. We have women's coaches on trains, and women's parking at the malls, and some women entrepreneur development programs by the Government.

Men's issues are not as severe as in the west. At least we don't have ridiculous divorce, alimony and custody laws, we don't have #metoo hysteria, and in general our society does not vilify men.

I don't think this is a big issue. Not like we're missing out so badly.
