Yes yes yes. AND - the point about intuition is that if it calls you and you ignore her, she stops trying (she’s HV after all). Listen to your gut the first time, it’s your most trusted friend.

We as women need to get more comfortable with saying no to literally anything that makes us uncomfortable. We're blessed with a wonderful (and usually accurate) sense of intuition, and we're constantly told to ignore it. We're told to give the "nice" guy who gives us bad vibes a chance because he's awkward and doesn't get girls, ignore small red flags because "maybe it was a bad first impression", ignore emotional unavailability and bad behavior because "people have bad days" or "maybe that's just the way he is". Literally every time I've ignored my intuition, I've ended up being 100% correct about my impression of the person and gravely regretted ignoring it. Society pushes for women to ignore this intuition to the benefit of men, and it does nothing for us. We get told we're too harsh, mean, or judgmental for trusting our intuition and leaving a situation. If something feels off, if someone gives you a bad vibe, walk away.

I remember reading somewhere that instincts are there because it’s pattern recognition. Meaning that “women’s intuition” is literally you seeing this behavior before that was demonstrated as dangerous. If something is telling you this man is off or something just doesn’t sit right, you’re most likely correct.

Fuck, I never thought I'd say this to anyone but S A M E.

3 women (without kids fortunately) from day one. All of us feel something was off and all of us decided to ignore it until one of them was like: I'm not gonna talk to him anymore and I was like ok I'll check his phone (few months after she stopped talking to him).

I told the one that was still being laugh at and the one that decided to stop talking for her to know that her intuition was right all the time and my ex tried to convince me otherwise more lies and lies! In my face with all the information I had!!

Glad those lovely ladies were honest with me and I was with them!

I second your advice of always follow your instincts!

I used to constantly get myself in trouble doing this! I’d notice something off with a guy in the beginning but push past it because I was always told I was “too picky.” Lo and behold, my instincts were always right 🙄

THREE women!? For TWO years!? Oh my gosh. What a psychopath. And a total loser, a man who is juggling three secret relationships clearly has nothing else going on in his life

The worst I'd heard before this was someone my mom knows, her stepdaughter found out her husband, who she'd w/ for 9 yrs, was having an affair with a woman in another state and another country. For like the entire 9 years. He showed them fake divorce papers and tried to get them to have a kid w/ him 💀. Oh and his wife just had had a baby when she found this out. But his side chicks lived far away so it wasn't like he saw them constantly. 3 full blown relationships, I cannot, what a bullet you dodged getting out when you did!!!

When I was dating my ex, he cheated on me twice (he said he never cheated, it was just a joke) he gave me all his social media passwords and I can look at his phone whenever I pleased. But eventually little by little, he said I needed permission to check his phone which I understand because everyone deserve privacy. He knew I would look at social media’s like every single day to find out if there was something fishy, it was hell. As you can see, I no longer trusted this person and put myself through torment. Before, he used to let me use his laptop too and it made me feel at ease until last year.....I wasn’t able to even be near his laptop anymore. He would freak out and tell me to just use my phone. One day, me and my family decided to go on a family trip and one night I ended up getting a panic attack and it was bad. Something didn’t feel right and the first person I thought of was him. I ended up crying for two hours nonstop panicking and I didn’t know why but he was the only person I thought off. I come back and I check his phone, see that all of December messages was deleted with his coworker (There was something off about that friendship) and he acted as if he had no clue why that happened, eye roll. I broke up with him afterwards because I couldn’t take the disrespect, the manipulation, and belittlement he put me through for years even after I took him back twice for cheating on me. I never found out why he was so paranoid about me not being near his laptop, but I know he was doing something behind my back again. Maybe one day I’ll find out, maybe I won’t. But he lost the best thing that has ever happened to him. Me.

This post resonated with me so much. For the longest time, I felt alienated for having such a strong sense of intuition in comparison to others and especially in a male dominated world where logic and rationale is touted so highly. For the longest time those inklings I had I couldn’t even name it as intuition, just that it was an experience I struggled to label, convey and be understood by others. Now I know...it’s almost like animal instinct. It’s my subconscious picking up on cues in my environment, subtle changes, emerging patterns, slight facial expressions and tone of voice.

And every time I’ve ignored my intuition, I regret it. From the time I was 17 and the cops pulled over this dude I eventually dated (why did they interrogate him for so long just for expired tags...oh wait he had a felony domestic violence conviction just a year prior?) to the guy 10 years older than me that I gave a chance to whom I was leagues above in looks, accomplishments and finances ( and eventually who began tearing me a part and weaponized my vulnerabilities against me) to an ex who suddenly became distant while sharing the same house (yes, he was cheating on me). Our intuition never lies. The patterns we see do not lie. Our previous experiences do not lie. Stay safe and listen to those instincts!
