Congrats just talked to my wife today. We agreed we just became friends at some point. Going to go 50/50 no alimony and no child support. I’m looking at a place this weekend. If we stay separated for a year it’s a no fault divorce.

How come no child support? I thought most jurisdictions mandated it. Does she make more money than you?

That's a great first hearing. However you need to be on your toes - the battle here is to get your children's schools defined as the ones in your current location, tying them geographically to you. Ex can move wherever she wants, but the kids stay where you are. You need to be able to highlight the ties that your children have to their current location - sports, friends, extended family etc.

50% parenting time doesn't work when parents are 3 hours away from one another. So one of you is getting the lion's share of parenting time.

Congrats! I'm hoping for a similar victory next month, but I expect to get primary custody and child support as well.
