Yes of course looks matter but unless you have Quasimodo levels of facial disfigurement, you need to be working on other areas of your life to bring your attraction levels up. Far too many men are happy using their perfectly average looks as some sort of a vicitimhood badge to coddle them into inaction, or worse, an excuse to not even try in the first place.

Looks matter, but guess what: Most people look average. And most people get laid. Yes, very attractive people get laid more - but attractiveness is a competitive advantage, not a competitive requirement.

I am an average looking dude (average height, glasses, fit but not shredded) and I can easily fuck a new girl every week. Why? Because I spit tight game, have an interesting life and I optimized my process and logistics.

Yeah, looks definitely matter to most people. Some people have different standards than others, but even to those people looks still matter, it's just a different spectrum. It's easy to sit there and say looks don't matter when it's not your own problem, as that's generally how it happens. You notice how it's never the people that can't get dates that say that looks don't matter? It's always coming from someone that doesn't have trouble with dating.
That's not to say that personality isn't super important. It absolutely is. Looks can get you in the door but personality keeps you there. The problem is, you can have the best personality on the planet but without the looks to get you in the door you're still stuck outside.

The issue is that many men here are so fixated on SMV that it causes body dysmorphia.

I have been coaching a guy who is an absolute Chad (looks wise), yet is so mentally fucked by Instagram/TRP/other bullshit that he thinks he has to be the perfect Chad meme to slay. This is something I've noticed about multitudes of men I've helped from this community.

The verdict? Obviously looks fucking matter, but attraction is more than looks alone. Many things contribute to your SMV. Status is a HUGE one. I remember once getting VIP since I knew the club owner for a semi-famous DJ and being approached non-stop all night by women. What changed? My perceived status.

Overall the takeaway is constantly work on improving your looks to the best of your capabilities. This boils down to really taking care of yourself. DO NOT dwell on what is outside your realm of control and become hyper-fixated on your imperfections.

Looks definitely matter. If you're good looking then some women will hit on you even without any effort from your part. You'll also have a much easier time with online game. But are looks everything? Nope. Are they necessary to get laid? Again, no, unless you're batshit ugly, which you can and should change. And even then, strong game can compensate for being ugly. I know a guy who was getting hot chicks even while being treated from cancer (he survived), he looked just terrible and people (men and women) made fun of him. But his frame is so strong that it didn't even matter. I saw women complimenting his style (lol) just a few minutes after making fun of his face covered in acne and bald head.

That's the same as being a big guy vs being a small guy when it comes to social interactions with guys and verbal fights for dominance. A smaller guy could totally destroy a bigger guy with words alone, making him look like a loser and making him submit to him just by having a strong frame, even when the bigger guy can probably one-shot him with one punch. Unwavering confidence makes other people assume that you have something to back it up, as long as they can't break your frame and you break theirs. But, in general, it's much easier to have a strong frame when you actually have something to back it up other than your beliefs. Like having a gun in your pocket when you confront an aggressive guy or having a plate or two when talking to a new girl. Your appearance is one of the tools, the most obvious and easiest to use, but not the only thing that matters or that can't be compensated for.

Thats the easy part to get good looks. Eat clean, do sports atleast 8hrs per week, cold showers, sleep well. Once these are checked, you upgrade your wardrobe will well fitted clothing, haircut and basic skin care. Meanwhile, take your jobs seriously and align your hobbies to grow your skills. Thats pretty much it. Level 1. Looks are super important. You want to look good everyday so you have build it up. Shred the fats, get in shape, haircut. Also clean your mouth for fucking god sake.
