Ah, my brain wants to jump to "water them down". Anyway ...

I'm genuinely done trying.....is there a way I can convey that to her or do I just ignore her?

Ignore is easiest. If what she replies with is not worthy of response, then, well, why respond to it? I mean you could actually try and have a real conversation - as opposed to text ... but ...

Sounds like you're beyond the point of wanting to try something like that anyway. So, if she's not worth it and putting in negligible to zero effort ... well, you can quite do same. No need to be an *ss about it or tell her "it's over" - sounds like there wasn't really an "it" there to begin with for "it" to be over anyway. So probably just let it slide. She may just be not that interested or not at all - so it goes. I'm sure there are many girls/women that are or might be interested in you, that if they showed interest ... you likewise would just not be interested. And, well, you wouldn't exactly be expecting them to tell you "it's over" - when only they thought there ever was an "it" for it to be over anyway. So, likewise, generally just drop it - let it slide ... and move on. Basically there's no "there" there to be particularly concerned about. So you get on with your life.

This sucks, especially when you really like the girl, but this is a huge red flag. Even if she came around and started to develop the relationship A LITTLE more, this is a pretty clear indicator that she is not looking to develop a partnership or is even incapable of it. Do your best to move on, and just let it drop, even though it's hard.

I’ve had this when texting friends before. I worked my hardest to keep the conversation going, but it was to good for my mental health when I stopped putting effort into it. I was sad, but not stressed. That’s what worked for me.

Maybe she's not interested? Some women are afraid to outright reject men cause they don't know how they will react (It's a reasonable fear tbh)

This isn't a dry conversation - it's hardly a conversation. She either thinks very little about your friendship or she is milking it for attention. Either way she is putting in the bare minimum to keep it alive.

You can make allowances - is she working incredibly hard, for example? She may just have no energy left for chat. However, she might be expected to blow off some steam about it. My oldest best friend doesn't talk much, never has and I've always done the heavy lifting on the communication front (I usually liaise with his wife over any social activities) but that's a running joke now and our friends will often compare notes to see who has got a thumbs up this week and wins the Blood From a Stone Prize. There is often no winner.

edit: so stop messaging - see what happens. If she gets in touch she likes the messages, if she doesn't then you really aren't on her radar at all.

Honestly as long as you are self-aware of the conversation and you know you tried your very best move on. I am really good at social conversations but the problem is the person you're talking to will think they're also socially capable since you're the one carrying the convo.

Just move on from the person if you feel like they aren't reaching out the same away, even remotely. There are a lot of girls and guys out there who CAN hold a convo well.
