Over the years, I've watched YouTubers such as Strong Successful Male, Darius M, JustPearlyThings, among others. And one particular complaint from many of these people and their audience that they seem to make is that Western women are too "masculine", which is why a lot of men are going abroad to find traditional wives.

I put "masculine" in quotes because when I hear the phrase masculine woman, I don't see what these folks are describing. When Red Pillers and the Manosphere describe a woman as being masculine, they usually mean loud-mouthed, rude, combative, overly focused on career, difficult, mean-spirited, uncooperative, domineering. Maybe it's my Aspegers talking, but that is NOT what comes to my mind when I hear those words go together, and this really drives me up the wall.

When I think of a masculine woman, I just think of a woman with more masculine traits than feminine traits, and those traits don't have to necessarily be negative. I dare someone to describe how a woman being strong and muscular, a leader, brave, stoic, tall, logically driven, heroically risking her life to save another's life, or killing an animal for food/another person in defense can be bad. Although I could be biased, because that is exactly what I find attractive in the ladies, especially muscles, dominance, bravery, and violence. Femininity is either a "meh" or a "pass."

Now, if men describe a masculine woman as being a rude, demanding, mean-spirited harpy, I don't blame them for complaining! I wouldn't want that negativity in my life either. But if they're just describing a total tomboy, a woman who's more logical (and less emotional) than average, who's killed a home invader/somebody in a war/a feral hog, or a 6-footer with big biceps and broad shoulders, I'd be asking her out in 5 seconds.

Then there's the question of why a woman might be masculine, whether by the Manosphere/Red-Pill definition or mine. You hear a lot of people on both sides say that they had to be that way because the men in their lives did not step up, they were raised by single mothers which affected their behavior, their role models in childhood were all male (Having several brothers or mostly being influenced by her father), growing up in a rural environment, et cetera. There are plenty of reasons why a woman could end up like this--including hormones.

Basically, in 1990s' Avon, England, an 18-month study called the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children was conducted. In it, 13,998 pregnant women from Avon had samples of their blood taken during key moments during their pregnancies, and the amounts of testosterone in the blood samples were checked out. So it's not always due to trauma or dysfunctional households.

On another note, remember how I said I personally like my women in touch with their masculine side? Well, I'm not exactly a masculine man. I'm honestly submissive, physically weak, and my interests are kinda nerdy. I honestly want to date and find the Xena to my Gabrielle, but for one, I don't know how to go about it, and secondly, I honestly think something is wrong with me for wanting a masculine female. So I kinda need advice on that front.
