Question 1)
Toxic masculinity is the idea that men are socialised into toxic traits for fear of being considered less of a man. This has not been my experience, we don't fear sharing our emotions because we are afraid of being seen as less manly, we are afraid of sharing our emotions because we know from experience that they are used against and it can make our situation worse. It's not that people can't understand, it is that they don't want to. Sharing our emotions hinders us.

Do you think that when it comes to men sharing emotions, there is too much focus on the fact that men don't and not enough on how society actually reacts when we do?

Wow, it's a great chance that you are getting to meet an intelligent human. I'm having some questions:

Just because some women were not having rights to do the job because of lack of education of that fields how does it make that women are oppressed by men because men even of that times' were not having any power or rights to hold these women from entering into? And lower women however still working that time too like doing nursing, taking and helping pregnant women, prostitutes, in arts and other fields, even India that time used to have breastfeeding women (if mother is unable to produce milk then you can hire another woman) etc.
What's exactly toxic masculinity and is toxic attitudes or behaviour gendered?
Why women have more social empathy and support?
Are there any incidents in history group of female violence over some other groups?
Why more men do sexual violence?
Why women were not having education in the past?
I believe draft is similar to oppression over men but what's the solution because during wartime we can't run behind saying I don't fight and keep my city burning.

Hey Brian! Greetings from Isla vista! I have these questions:

1) do feminism and gender equality require a developed and relatively wealthy society as a necessary condition to exist?

2) Modern culture and the rise of feminism might have paradoxically brought society in a more “prehistoric” setting: promiscuity is considerably more common (hook up culture) and as a consequence different (and maybe ancient) social dynamics have developed. While before marriage was the rule, now sexual freedom and gender equality allow for the establishment of the Pareto Principle. Most women chase after the top men leaving the majority (or maybe a considerable amount) of men with little or no options in the dating and sexual market. This might also have been one of the causes of incel culture and might have promoted feelings of loneliness and frustration in part of the male population. What are Dr. Farrell’s opinions on this matter and does he think that “gender liberation” or gender equality is actually achievable in either a traditional society or the current modern society, since both seems to be intrinsically characterized by inherent differences between the sexes and their advantages and disadvantages?

Also, in both a traditional and modern society, men always have the advantage of superiore physical strength. How does that translate in social dynamics in either society and is it a barrier to gender equality?

Also another question: nurture vs nature. Male hormones like testosterone have an impact on the social behavior of men. Is it actually achievable to have a society based on the equality of the sexes when certain dynamics might be biological in nature and therefore harder to control by the surrounding social environment? Would it be better to strive for a society that recognizes differences in sexes while promoting mutual respect or support the development of gender equality? If it’s the latter, then does Dr. Farrell believe that the biological differences that affect social behaviors in men and women are surmountable obstacles?
