I have not read it ,but I might read it at some point.I have heard about some of the things that are mentioned in the book though,and from what I have heard I don't think it is an objective book.

She mentions things like the wage gap for example which we all know has already been debunked,and she also mentions smartphones being bigger so they fit men's hands better.Smartphone are bigger now because consumers demand bigger screens,not because there designed to fit men's hands better.

Also,I have read a review of the book were someone claimed that they went through the sources and many of them just lead to articles with no references instead of studies.However,I don't know if this is true.So from what I've heard it seems like another biased feminist book.

Obligatory 'I haven't read it', but I did stumble upon it earlier this week and stopped taking it seriously as I was reading the description.

Cities prioritize men’s needs when designing public transportation, roads, and even snow removal, neglecting to consider women’s safety or unique responsibilities and travel patterns.

For those who haven't seen it, watch this video by TL;DR about feminist snow plowing. I'm not kidding, and neither is the author of the stupid book. Feminists really tried to implement feminist snow plowing, and it was a disaster.

I'm guessing there's probably something about how seatbelts run too high and irritate women's necks because women are shorter. Well, I'm a reasonably tall man and when I'm sitting I often find that I sit at a similar height to most women. This is partially because women store more fat around their butts effectively acting as a booster seat. Fat people in general may be shorter than me standing up but taller sitting down.

Maybe there's something about how gardening gloves are too big for women's hands, which is probably true, but also is presumably the result of almost all people who need to wear such gloves for a living being male. Why shouldn't most gloves be designed for men? If women are in such need of smaller gloves and there are none on the market, then you just found an incredible business opportunity.

Perhaps there's something about podiums being too tall for short people. Well they're also too short for tall people, they need to be a comfortable height for an average person, and maybe that won't serve the extremes. You don't get to ignore tall men and then attribute the lack of suitability for short people to misogyny. Also most podiums are adjustable.

I've had to sit through lectures in university by women who insisted that men don't think about short people like women because I guess we don't know what it's like to be short. We do. Literally every tall man has been short at one point, we didn't come out of the womb at 6'-5". Women actually don't know what it's like to be tall though. Sure they can try heels, but have women ever tried showering in heels? The shower head is too low and shower curtains are 6' tall which means that if the curtain needs to run to the floor, the shower curtain must also only be 6' off the ground, and a lot of men have to duck under it. Mirrors are almost always too low, in houses, hotels, public bathrooms, just everywhere. It's beyond frustrating having a bad hair day and trying to fix it while also having to bend over so you can even see your hair. Beds aren't long enough, I've never once slept on a bed since reaching my full height where my feet didn't hang off. You want to know why men don't invest in bed frames? Because a lot of bed frames would leave us constantly hitting our ankles on them. Men can play this game too.

What do men do when we have a material need? We innovate, design, produce and source markets for our solutions.

Notice how these girl bosses never go out of their way to design something that's universally useful. It's always marketed to women. They've got that part down pat. Gathering & refining the resources, generating and distributing the energy, designing and engineering the product, producing it, shipping it and maintaining the infrastructure to support all this? Men. Oh but hey, what have we done for you lately?

And we do all of that for our PEOPLE. Not just for ourselves, for other men. We do it for our community, our family, our nation, our pride. And now that so many young men have been demoralized and offered little more than future of chattel slavery to the debts used to pay for all of these excesses they won't shut up about.

Her theories - or anyone who argues such things - do not hold water, if you actually have a modicum of understanding of sociocultural and biological human history.

Effectively every aspect of civilisation has been, and current is, designed with the primary purpose of protecting and providing for women, and making their lives easier. Why do we think that women have always been shielded from war, and from engaging in physically laborious and/or dangerous jobs? It was never about a desire to "supress their rights".

Reality is, if not for women, humans as a species would still be running about in the wilderness naked with spears. Innovation, ingenuity and progression was facilitated by men to A) impress women and improve their sexual success, and B) help protect their current woman and current children or future children.

Why do we think that so many young men dgaf in modern, western society and have a generally blasé attitude towards things? Because they don't have the incentive of a good, feminine woman in their life (or the potential of a good, feminine woman) who spurs them to succeed. Obviously, you don't need a woman in your life in order to be successful and help progress your community / town / nation etc, but it's the main catalyst for most men, and it always has been. The only men who are outliers to this dynamic are/were people like Nicola Tesla who are probably asexual and/or autistic.

Like Sorebum, I haven’t read it but I’ve often heard feminist arguments quoting the book.

First, I’m sure there are things made by men with men in mind simply because occupations were mainly filled by men. It wouldn’t make much sense to for men to design WW1 military uniforms with women in mind. The sexism is that women were exempt.

From what I’ve read however, most of her examples aren’t things designed for men. She simply looks at decisions and makes arguments they discriminate, when they don’t.

For example “She describes the snow-clearing schedule in the town of Karlskoga, Sweden, where the major traffic arteries are plowed first and pedestrian walkways and bicycle paths are cleared last. Why is this sexist? Men tend to work outside their homes and travel to work in cars or buses, while women are far more likely to walk with a child to school, sometimes wheeling other children in strollers.”

Anyone who’s ever lived where there’s snowy winters knows plowing streets first makes sense. Streets, especially the main arteries are how emergency vehicles get around, it’s how food and other goods are transported. You need the roads open to transport the snow removal equipment needed to clear the sidewalks. I also think she’s full of it to claim women are all using the sidewalks and not driving. Clearly many women drive to work just like men.

She’s simply claiming sexism where there is none and making a lame argument in support.

(Added: as another post pointed out that city tried it the feminist way and it was a disaster because the traditional way was based on clearing snow efficiently rather than BS gender politics).

I’m confident she’s also guilty of cherry picking. One could of course point out the many things that have been invented by men targeted to help women specifically, but I’m willing to wager she doesn’t talk about those in her book.

Yet another comment from me about what I see in twoxchromosomes: They love to whine. Especially whining about stuff that's not true as the other comments here show. And never trying to understand what's going on, and with the usual attitude that it's men's responsibility to fix things for them.

This is why I feel that even with all of the misandry and problems men face, I have no doubt that men will still be on top, because we get things done instead of sitting around whining about whatever.

She is full of shit. Many things are constructed by the elites, for the elites. But certainly not by men for men.

Just think about it. No shelters for male victims of abuse, men are considered perps automatically. Men get longer sentences. Men need to work and provide as a rule. Men go to war to die and get maimed. Only womens scholarships and spaces.

Nope, we live in a society that discriminates against men and masks it behind claims of patriarchy and misogyny.

Something like 85% of all spending is done by women, so companies have a massive incentive to make things that women want. Of course, feminist frame everything in terms of "structural sexism". And structural sexism is like UFOs - true believers see evidence everywhere, even where there isn't any. A great example of this is Hillary Clinton's deluded claim that the real victims of war are women, because they are the ones left behind to pick up the pieces after the men have been killed.

That’s just feminist “patriarchy theory”. And as I said, all political leaders, legislators, judges, academics and top company CEOs could be women, and feminists will still claim we live in a “patriarchy” on the basis of that thinking, and use it to justify pro-female bias and pretend it isn’t sexist discrimination.
