Recently, numerous men showed up at a job fair intended for women and nonbinary tech workers (https://www.npr.org/2023/10/05/1203845886/women-tech-conference-men-grace-hopper). One of the events organizer's staffers told men to "Stop [handing out your resumes]. Right now. Stop." Another such individual said in a video post the shift in demographics had robbed the conference of the joyous and supportive atmosphere that had helped previous conference-goers grow; "We tried to create a safe space. And this week, we saw the outside world creep in," she said. "I can't guarantee you that we'll have solutions tomorrow. But I can promise you that we'll be working on solutions, and we won't do it in a bubble."

Now, I want to be crystal clear: I have no issue whatsoever with the creation of job fairs specifically for women and non-binary workers; none, zero, zilch, zip, nada. I am 100% a-okay with this idea. HOWEVER, if we are going to go down this road -- and I am not claiming we should nor claiming we should not -- then we must admit men and women and non-binary individuals must be treated differently for work. I'm okay with that. I am also okay treating everyone equally for work but then we have to drop objections to what the men did here. As far as I can see, it's only one or the other.
