they just feel comfortable being around their husbands after the long time in their relationship. it's like the best friend who can spend the rest of their life together whose company assuages the anxiety that comes from the possibility of being alone forever. (This is great anxiety especially for females. I have seen quite a few guys who are completely satisfied keeping to himself, the Jack Reacher type I would say or maybe adaptive psychopath?)
