The Christian dating market is tricky. There are a lot of Christian men choosing to stay single because of their too high standards. There are also some who are very picky on beliefs and want to see a woman have real faith. Then there are the soft Christian guys who will sleep with you but maybe not date if you don’t seem good girl enough. Or some will expect you to stay celibate until married. I’ve met several 40 something virgin Christian men. I gave up on Christian exclusive dating and decided to accept agnostic men who had good morals. I found they will wait past the 3rd date if you keep your boundaries. I wouldn’t suggest going into Christian dating and saying you don’t believe. Just say you are new to the faith and excited to explore that with a Christian man. During your monk mode could be a good time to study the faith and original text so that you are prepared for these men. Get yourself into a community group or Bible study with a big church that is focused on single people in your age range. That is exactly how I got the big social life I have now and how I’ve met men to date.

Waiting two years is almost literally the dumbest thing you could possibly do to find a husband at this point. Waiting to date for two years when you're 40 years old is the equivalent of getting a neck tattoo that says "F&#$ the patriarchy". Men, almost universally, prefer women far younger than 40. Do not wait. Date now. Now. Yesterday. Last year.
As a rule, men do not care about your career or money. At best, it is a tiny bonus. Men....do....not....care...about.....your....money. get it through your thick skull. Don't take my word for this. Google studies on men's perception of women's wealth or social status. They all point to the same thing. MEN DON'T CARE.
Date substantially older. At least 50. You still have a (small) chance of giving a man a child. You may still be very beautiful. But 40 year old men, of any great value are NOT looking for other 40 year old men. Date older. Much older. The younger men will give you some dick. Nothing else.
At 40 years old, you can do very little to raise your SMV. Losing some weight (if you're overweight) can help greatly. But that's about it.

You can listen to me, and succeed. Or, you can listen to a bunch of people elsewhere, and even on this sub, that will try to pump you up or deny the advice I just listed, and you'll fail.

Full text: Hi folks, I'm a 40F VHCOL NYC and am going monk mode for 2 years to raise my SMV as a beta provider, then starting to date at 42. My boyfriend died early this year as well.

Most guys here want to date a woman that makes more than 60k, even 100, 120k if you dont come from a good family but kind of as a dowry if your marrying a gentleman raised in the suburbs.

I don't live in a close knit ethnic community, so the mainstream multi racial NYC dating pool is my experience and I will be judged along a mainstream standard.

I have outcome independence when it comes to fertility, and am mostly working on homeownership, defensive driving, computer science.

Im learning everything from coding, stock trading hammering CodeCademy 4 hours a day and skipping dinner to lose weight.

I also tried Christianity, a religion I respect a lot and use many practices from like Psalm recitation, and it wasn't for me for many reasons.

Parents raised me atheist, but I don't know what they would want in their hour of trial. Im considered a firstborn son after the parents demise because my family is feminist and progressive.

So I need advice on how to possibly navigate the "religious" dating marketplace as an open-minded unbeliever, because in my city, secular men want you to f-close within the first 3 dates, I don't drink alcohol, and people would see me as frigid and a jerk.

Oh my gosh. I have no experience dating at 40 or in NYC, so I'd like to refrain from giving advice, but I am so sorry for your loss. That's awful.
