Should I consult a lawyer first before talking to her about it?

She knows its coming as we are mere roomates after all. I also think my relationship will be better with my kids when she is not around.

I am in NJ. Financial wise, we make the same money and own a 600k house which we owe $350k on. I pay the mortgage and bills. She pays the groceries and clothes for kids. What kind of financial impact am I looking at? I also want to keep the house. This is where I'm stuck as how this will work out.

I'm on my way to take ownership of a business and I have been stalling to give this relationship a chance but we are at a point of no return and I would like initiate the process asap.
