I wonder what the goal is. It can't be to further feminism because anyone with half a brain can figure out that incessant shaming predominantly causes indifference.

What it does work for though is that you as a straight man get your natural attraction for women a bit numbed. Hell, to me, any woman is as interesting or sexual as shrubbery until proven-not-to-be-an-asshole that runs with this sort of crap. You're also more disinclined to any unassuming (platonic) friendships with women.

If the purpose is to drive men and women more apart, it does work. Personally, I'm ok with it having that effect on me. Life's pretty damn practical without fantasizing or having the desire to connect much with women.

There's an older Jordan Peterson interview where the discussion went toward conflict resolution and how it's handled differently between men, and between women.

The summary idea was that, men tend to favor resolving conflict through physical means - eg: if another man offends you to a severe degree, it's understood that there is a certain risk of it escalating to a fist fight.

Meanwhile women tend to favor resolving conflict through what amounts to reputation destruction - they'll spread rumors about Stacy being a slut, or resort to ad hominem insults & such as a means to discredit others, amounting to the same 'effect' as reputation destruction.

Peterson noted that, of course most good men really don't want to throw punches on a woman, or how many women can throw any insults on a man and he's probably heard worse from his bros such that the insults don't really have the same 'impact'. But what does, leans in women's favor, as through rumors and false accusations, which can destroy a man's reputation.

In short - women (including feminists) will use the ad hominem attacks just as a generalized expression as how they've grown up to learn how to deal with conflict resolution; attack reputation -- just as much as men who get into a severe argument will throw punches as a means of conflict resolution.

With it also weighted in women's favor of having some other methods to achieve the same reputation destruction, while men rarely if ever have the "social permission" to slap a hoe.

Better question is why isn't this called out more, because it's clearly adhominems, body shaming, slandering and "punching down". Women who insult men by calling them incels or lonely do so from a position of privilege, because they live in a society in which women are pursued and therefore never truly have to experience loneliness unless they choose to. There's also plenty of heterophobia, racism and sexism in trying to shame views for coming from "straight white men". Yet, none of it is ever really called out, or at least not called out in any impactful capacity.

And the answer to that questions just comes back to male disposability and female pedestalization. People don't care how sexism affects men, because that sexism is already so deeply rooted in how they see the world. Society is negatively predisposed towards men and only seemingly cares about what women want or how it makes them feel. It may as well be a gynarchy.

It's simple. These people do not have any actual thoughts of their own, so they can't actually defend their points. It is like asking a parrot to defend a statement they make when all the parrot is actually doing is mimicking noises they heard from a human's mouth.

Their immediate reaction being insults and ad hominem attacks are a way to 1) Direct the conversation away from them defending their positions since they can't and 2) Dismiss your points by character assassination so that they do not even have to actually defend themselves and their positions or address your positions.
