Equality in a relationship is impossible, someone is more in charge than the other; she wanted to be in charge and called it 'being equal', he didn't want to be the submissive in the relationship, so it didn't work out. She blames it on him not liking 'equality' be the reality is she wanted to be in charge when it suited her and him to pick up the slack when she didn't want to make decisions; that's equality to her. Clearly it wasn't to him and he didn't like his concept of 'equality' or really it seems him having a say when they were on tour.

Sour grapes IMHO and she doesn't understand equality.

She pretty much says she acted like "the boss" on her tour; was likely lording over people and treating him as subordinate, or ignoring him altogether. We know how much that endears a woman to a man. Women who fail at relationships seem to thrill to emasculate men in settings where the man can't always hold the strongest frame (in this case on Perry's own tour, but with us average people it could be amongst her artsy friends), and then either next him accordingly, or get dumped a guy who's fed up with her callousness and diva behavior.
