So I recently went back to college after getting used to cold approach --> date --> close in NYC. Completely different ball game. I go to a big 10 university. It's a college town, and you can cold approach and never see people again.

So I did somewhat of an experiment, went out cold approached girls at night, that were on there way to parties, got 5 numbers. The next day I texted them each "Hey its youhadanidea lets go on a coffee date" or some variant thereof. I got 0 responses. So I thought that was interesting, and thought the demographics might be an issue, these girls are going out to party, so they're not interested in dating.

Next I cold approached during the day, dining hall, in between classes, on the street, again got 5 numbers, I text the same. "Hey its youhadanidea lets go on a coffee date" or some variant thereof. I again got 0 responses. Ironically this same method worked quite well on an Italian exchange student that I had been seeing for 3 weeks before her leaving and my restarting pick up.

Now each of the girls I approached seemed quite interested in actually meeting me again during the initial approach. I made sure there was sexual connotation and said we should go out sometime before getting the number from each of them. So I again tried the second experiment again but changed one variable, my first text. I cold approached 5 girls during the day, but my first text to them was something along the lines of "Hey its youhadanidea a friend of mine is throwing a party tonight you should come" or some variant thereof, and 4/5 girls texted back quite interested. Now I thought this was interesting again, so I texted them the addresses and 2 were willing to meet up before and go together. The other two I flipped the script and said "we should go on a date" or something like that, and again no response from them.

Now this interests me. Perhaps my textgame is shitty, maybe I'm too direct with setting up a date. Maybe coffee is weird, and it is socially not acceptable for college aged guys to ask college aged girls on a coffee date because nobody our age does that -- maybe inviting for drinks at a bar is better, but I'm not 21 yet, and even when I do become 21, it's likely the girls I'm targeting are not 21. Maybe I should have called instead of texted -- there's still a lot of variables to play with. And I realize n = 5 for each experiment, but it seems college girls are much more interested in meeting at parties than dating. Which in terms of sexual strategy would indicate it is quite advantageous to join a fraternity, or be in a house that throws a lot of parties -- just so you can have a place that girls are interested to go. Now I'm not too interested in girls involved in the party scene, I don't drink, I don't want to, I find parties boring, and in that sense asking for a coffee date could screen out girls I wouldn't be much interested in, but what purpose does a screen serve if it screens out all targets?

Has anybody else noticed this? The approach is easy and from the first date on it's straightforward, and easy, but it seems I'm having the most trouble between getting the number and establishing the first date. Does anybody have any tips for how to get a college girl to go on a date specifically.
