Creepy is someone who women don't find sexually attractive who is still trying to get it.
If you blow up a set and stick around you're creepy.

Haha, so true.
This comment reminds me of that sexual harassment skit from somewhere featuring some guy.

That video is very funny, and has also a bit of truth. Unfortunately people took it too seriously and misapplied it to "creepy". Now every time the topic of "creepiness" appears on reddit people mention that. But it's wrong. A guy might be considered physically attractive but creepy.
Like someinterestedparty says below, "creep" is a person who displays lack of social awareness. Extreme example: a young Hollywood actor playing a serial killer will look creepy no matter how attractive he is.

Yes. To say being creepy is just about being unattractive is ridiculous and smacks of ugliness-related bitterness. It's entirely to do with lacking enough social awareness to know when your attention is unwanted.

creepy is what you are after failing to pick up on social cues, in my opinion.

If you don't notice creepy people, you're probably the creepy guy

The "creepy" accusation isn't really that bad. It's just a question of how you react to it. I've had girls call me creepy and then go home with me later. It's just what rustoof said, a generic phrase that girls have started throwing out whenever a guy shows more interest than they're showing. The old "affirm and amplify" technique works to defuse it, as does any standard shit-test response.
I can think of one specific case of a girl who called me creepy, at a "no pants dance party" on a college campus. After dancing for a while I was outside bumming a cigarette and chatting with everyone, and the girl says "dude, you are creepy". I just met her eyes and smiled and said "I am? Haha, maybe so. What makes you say that?" Apparently I had avoided her eyes on the dance floor and only danced with her from behind.
This was fair enough, but I didn't concede the point. I acted like she was making it all up and that she hadn't even been on the dance floor, implying I hadn't even noticed her. Later she switched to telling the group some other story about a "creepy" guy and I wedged in again with "so wait, who's the creepy one, me or him?" She says "him, definitely", and I rewarded her with some very intimate kino out of nowhere, and after that it was just a matter of getting her the three blocks from the party to my apartment.

Having a lot of girls that are friends, I've seen what happens for them to define a random person as creepy. Creepy is when you linger and don't make an advance (just obviously staring at girls in the corner), after getting blown hanging around trying to get with them still, or going from no kino at all to super touchy feely without escalating.

In my experience creepy is mostly insecurity coupled with desire for anything.

I think:
All encompassing 3. They feel threatened.
In the end, though, who cares? It's just a word girls are throwing around. You're not trying to become "not creepy", you're becoming awesome.

If you need external validation, whoever you seek it from will be creeped out.
[–]rotund 1 point2 points3 points 15 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don't worry about it. You will always rub a few people the wrong way, no matter what you're doing. Just take it in stride (I know it's hard), you probably won't see them again

Value and validation seeking.

I always got the sense that creepy is a form of aggressive, yet insecure sexual expression. The most classic example is when a guy tries to dance with a girl from behind. You can't sneak up and dance with some one. It doesn't work. The only way to counter a creepy accusation is to act like she didn't even register on the radar sexually, so she thinks it's all in her head.
If your sticking to the basics. (approach from the front, make eye contact, paying attention to ioi, not coming off as needy or try hard). Your not going to be creepy, and any girl who says other wise is shit testing you.

Creepy is when you're not really capable of knowing when the person is not interested to you and you pass that persons personal space. Do not touch people who are not interested in you.

Creepy is subjective.
Creepy can mean sincerity and it can also mean something that blows them outta their socks. Both is, in my opinion, significant to up your game on seperate levels of their own like sincerity in there to show your personality (reinforcing your image by means of being congruent to what you actually do/say) or the surprise part can be perfect in adding to the multiple aspects of your self.
I think there's no such thing as creepy when the signs are caught and you proceed to the next phase. Even a socially akward guy who catches the signs can escalate. It's either that, or the girl doesn't want anything to do wiht you no matter how tight your game is. If those are the cases, might as well forget about her.
Yeah, no direct answer here, sorry.
