Let's say it's finals season and so "dates" are not the typical dates. We hang out for a bit. But we have busy schedules.

I don't know. I went on one of these last night and going for the kiss felt so unnatural. I wanted to kiss her, but we were walking back after coffee, it was fucking freezing cold outside, and she didn't seem like she even really wanted to hug goodbye, haha. So we just sort of parted ways. But she did thank me and said we should make plans again.

Maybe I'm making excuses because she was quite hot and I was less convinced I would succeed.

But I'm relatively new to going on dates and if it's not laid out for me: if the girl isn't giving clear signs, and ESPECIALLY if she's giving signs that she doesn't want to kiss (she just wanted to go in because it was freezing).

I remember after one date I went to hug a girl and she was staring me dead in the eyes so I was like "ok, obviously going in for the kiss" and I did.

But when the signs are less clear, I'm not as good at making it go in that direction.

EDIT: I also want to add something. Sometimes girls are very outgoing, and make things easy. They make their signs obvious. Some girls are more reserved. This girl was one of them. What do I do when the girl is more reserved and doesn't give hints, still look for the kiss? Or is it ok to play it slowly?

So that begs these questions: How important is kissing on the first date? Am I potentially friendzoned for not kissing her? What is your policy on kissing on first dates?
