It's not really about doing interesting things. It's about conveying what you do in an emotionally engaging way. Probably the best way to do this is by showing you are passionate about something. This makes a woman believe you can be passionate about her.

This usually means creating a "persona." You're not a guy who studies economics, you're a future tycoon, you're building the future of the world.

From the way you wrote your post, it seems as if your personal identity is defined in terms of academics. While this in it self isn't a bad thing, only defining your self in terms of that is. You want to branch away from this, look at hobbies that interest YOU but which you've never gotten around to trying out, and if you don't know where to begin just try out what everyone else is doing and see what sticks.

From what you've written the most obvious suggestion is that you should try find an economics special interests group at your uni(most universities have them). Some other examples would be:

sports (if going solo is your thing, try swimming)
marital arts (I started kendo because my brother was getting into it and in the process I found out it's a great place to discover about my self and is a great martial art to help me unwind after a long day)
public speaking (I recently joined a toast masters society and would highly recommend it. I checked it out on suggestion from a post I saw on sedit a few months ago; I fell in love with it during the first meeting I attended)
a social fraternity/club
book reading club

TL;DR play the field and see what sticks. Bonus tip: Try out activities that take you out of your comfort zone

If you build yourself an amazing life, people will want to be a part of it. Whatever crazy thing you want to try do it! Whether it's dancing, singing, skydiving, or playing guitar, learn how to do it and get better at it. Wonder what you'd be doing if the internet hadn't been invented yet.

Traveling has given me a lot of stories to bond with people over. Anything that makes you appear more worldly helps.

Keep in mind though, HOW you say things and the energy level you maintain really matters more.

Having great content just makes it that much easier to be excited and passionate.

Performing
Biking
Art

while this list is purely me, grab one on there, just one, and run with it. I Specifically say do Boxing. Every single time I mention it, "I'll have to leave soon because I gotta go boxing/Train for Boxing" always brings

"you box too? God boxers are so hot"

I used to try things that I thought girls would find attractive such as playing guitar and shit but it didnt make me happy. This would defeat the purpose of living an honest, attractive life. So if you want to pursue a lifestyle that women will find attractive you won't feel fulfilled. Pursue what makes you happy.

What I do is photography, dancing, raving, running, and improv. I am also interested in trying out a martial art and want to start a blog about my city because I am passionate about my city. Will any of this attract girls? Maybe, maybe not but it makes me happy and that is what's important. The icing on the cake is people have complimented me on how fun I am to be with and someone said they can feel my 'joyful aura.'

I like photography. Taking pictures, photo editting, the arts, things of that nature. While it's not interesting to everybody, it's interesting to me and its something I'm confident in and can talk to other people about. And although I'm not the best PUA, it's something I can keep girls interested and talking. Also, girls love getting their picture taken.

I love magic. I mean the performing type, as in magician. That being said, it has never once gotten me laid. Ever. Because here's the thing, most hobbies are really boring to most people. I have no interest in learning to be a stamp collector. That being said z if I ever met a passionate stamp collector, I'd be fascinated to hear him talk about it. Because that's what makes a hobby cool. It's not what a person does, it's that they decided to do it.

Side rant b of frustration. The fact that there are so many guys out there in pickup who know a magic trick pisses me off. Every single one of you sucks.

Photography, video games, work out, play pool, browse reddit way to damn much. Find things that interest you and create ways of explaining them to interest others. If you really like what you do and can explain it to someone in an interesting way, it will show you are confident and that you have a purpose other than pussy.

The activities that you enjoy don't have to involve people at all. Many of my hobbies are things I do alone. The point is to just do what you enjoy because it's makes you a better person.

I swing dance a lot. I lift. I'm working on picking up the saxophone again. I go out on the town on weekends and weeknights to improve my knowledge of awesome restaurants and bars and of the city in general. I play magic and league of legends. I try to cook and improve my culinary and mixology skills. I practice thinking probabilisticly. I build awesome systems and implement interesting algorithms at work.

Try getting out of your comfort zone, I started attending a local circus meetup for example and learned how to juggle (and met women) , not something I was "inclined" towards but even today when I know thats going on if I have a prospective on the line I can always recommend we go "check it out"

Its interesting, unique, I can introduce a girl around, its relaxed, most importantly its FUN.

I work at a startup, have founded my own holding company on the side for other ventures, one of which I'm currently building and another which we're looking into the legal rights for. So... there's that... which is exciting but not interesting to other people for very long. It is kind of like being a banker or lawyer except the money isn't as good yet and I don't hate myself.

Otherwise, crossfit, golf, football fan, read non-fiction, cooking/foodie, failing to learn Spanish, and just generally like to be "out & about" to events, river walks, friends doing races, etc.
