A while back I matched with a girl on Tinder, who happens to be in my human sexuality class. She's actually really cute, probably a 7.5 or 8/10. We've talked a couple times on the bus and I've always felt my brain going to sleep during our conversations. She'd contribute basically nothing and I felt extreme apathy towards her. I got her number just because but never texted her because of how fucking lame I thought she was.

After matching, I opened her on Tinder with something basic and we got to talking. I'm not kidding when I say this: She told me she just broke up with her boyfriend who she found out was married with a kid. She had been dating him for over a year. Yeah. Yeah....Yeah.

Obviously I'm taken aback by this and I tell her I'll text her about it instead. We talked about it briefly and she was telling me that she was just going to try to move past it by "enjoying the college experience and having fun", aka getting fucked up and hooking up with hot college guys.

Again, I'm weirded out by the fact that she's so fucking dumb to have just found out after a year of dating this guy so I never texted her again. Throughout the next few weeks I'd get little texts from her now and then, about class and dumb shit.

One night she texted me at 11:00PM the night before an exam, asking if I'd studied. I was tired of her little texts and was pretty horny so I asked to come over so we could study together. She instantly agreed and immediately suggested I sleep over. Just to get this clear: She invited me over at 11:30 at night to study human sexuality together and suggested I spend the night. I'm a pretty good looking guy and I generally hook up with girls that I hang out with so I'm pretty excited at this point. I figure it'll be a fun little lay up. Sounds perfect, right? Not so fast.

I packed my homework, condoms, lube, you name it, and went over to her apartment. I met her roommate and we hung out in her room chatting and doing a little studying for a bit. She shares a room with her roommate so I decided if she was interested in hooking up that she'd isolate herself by recommending we go to the living room. Again, I wasn't in a rush so I just sat back and studied. What do you know, she recommended we go to the living room.

Yeah, her roommate probably needs to go to sleep, but c'mon, talk about the perfect storm. So here we are, in the living room, alone, studying human sexuality in the middle of the night, under the pretense that I'd be sleeping over. Every time I'd try to make conversation or make a joke, she'd respond with a word or two, a fake laugh, or look away awkwardly. It was the most awkward thing I've ever seen.

I transitioned a conversation topic into a kiss attempt and as I went in she smiled broadly and put her hands up, saying "no". I pushed against her a little to test how serious she was and her guard was firm. OK, whatever.

Right after that she gets up and puts on a movie. I think "Yeah, that makes sense. She needs some background noise so her roommate can't hear us." Wrong. After we get into the movie a little bit and we're both laughing, I go in again and get another adamant rejection. Again, she's putting out super awkward vibes and being a total lameass this whole time. I quickly left after I finished studying without hugging her, figuring she must have changed her mind about the whole thing.

A week goes by and again she's texting me. I head over to her house under the same conditions as last, 9:30PM, her suggesting I spend the night.

When I got there my frame was super positive and strong. I joked around with her and her roommate plenty, amusing myself and keeping conversation light-hearted. Her roommate joined us in the living for a bit and I actually had a better time talking with her roommate. Her roommate asked me if I was spending the night, almost expectantly. At this point I'm wondering if they're trying to set up some kind of threesome situation with me but I didn't detect any desire or flirtation coming from the roommate, or my girl for that matter. I'm pretty attuned to that kind of shit by now.

Eventually her roommate went to bed and I had maintained the fun positive vibes I was putting out, flirting a little bit with both of them. Again, my Tinder match from class was breaking rapport constantly and had extremely unreceptive body language. Every fun conversation and little tease I'd throw at her was met with a short answer or an eye-roll. She'd seriously roll her eyes or widen them while looking away as if I was strange or she was too good to engage in conversation with me.

At one point she vaguely touched on the topic of me sleeping over and I told her I don't like sleeping on couches and that I'd rather go home. If we had established romantic involvement with even a peck on the lips I'd have pushed to sleep in her bed, but I was getting absolutely ZERO other green lights from her. When I told her I'd rather go home, that was a not-so-subtle hint that she had better step the fuck up and allow an opportunity for escalation to occur or me sleeping over wasn't happening. Obviously, she didn't. It baffled me.

After a hour of that shit I left, and she knew full well I wasn't done studying. I quickly packed up my shit and left without a hug. I deleted her number when I got home.

My assessment on the situation is that she's either A) Dumb, B) Fucked up from her last idiotic relationship, or C) Looking for validation from orbitors(male girlfriends, gay best-friends, emotional tampons, provider males). I'm going to go ahead and lock in D, all of the above.

There's also the possibility that she wanted to rob me in my sleep. I haven't ruled that out yet.

Update: She texted me again this morning asking me to do her a favor--"Bring me a phone charger". Ha!
