So I've been an introvert for as long as I can remember. This has been a constant struggle over the years.

It's been this past 2 years where things started to change. (Ask me on the comments for any specific details).

I decided to embrace my true character. (It took me a long time for me to fully express my own character around other people).

These are the aspects I focused on:

  • I don't speak much naturally, therefore, I decided to speak only when I had something to input into a conversation.
  • Be more tuned towards certain topics. E.g. talk with people about things I'm passionate about. So talking about music would excite me, therefore I would have long discussions with people about music. Plus, I'm more talkative and girls love talking about the music they listen to.
  • Be in environments I feel comfortable in. So instead of going to parties I would travel to the city, or get stoned at the park. If I bring a girl along, I will feel more social than being at a crowded rave.
  • Challenge my comfort zone. Say I'm going to my lesson and there is a girl walking to hers, I start a conversation even if it feels awkward at first. The more I do it, the less awkward it gets.
  • Wake up and look at a mirror, say the following... "I am the shit, I will feel completely comfortable with myself today". This gives me energy, and it's like a quick meditation technique.

How it has helped me:

  • This summer has been insane for me. I've had a fling with 3 girls. That is more than in the past 4 years.
  • I've met better friends, genuine people who like me by how I am.
  • I'm currently at college and starting up conversations with attractive women is easy as hell.
  • I'm less stressed in public, not as emotionally draining as before.
  • Now I can focus on my studies better, without being depressed because I'm single and feeling lonely.
