Does anyone feel like a Loser here? Is Game actually a skill set?

Yes game is a skillset. A lot of men don't learn it growing up, for whatever reason, and modern society can be an incredibly isolating place. If you are in your mid 20s with a full time job and you like to play video games every evening, you will never learn this skillset.

But actually, it is more than this too. It is a myth that if you are high enough value then women will come to you. While this might happen to the absolute top men (actors, athletes, etc.) it is an impossibility for the vast vast majority. It doesn't work on a sliding scale either. Either you are such a stud that women are desperate to be with you, or you have to make all the moves yourself. Being "high value" makes it easier when you take action, but you still have to be taking action. Focusing only on building yourself up is an excuse for not making yourself uncomfortable and risking rejection.

Game is a framework for how to take action with the opposite sex in an effective way. Once you have enough reference experiences, then the framework can be removed. Until then, applying techniques and lines that break your current behavioural patterns will allow you to get these reference experiences.

Does this make sense?

I've been in the community a while and met all different types. There have been plenty with gaping insecurities, and guys who are a little strange, and I've also met some genuinely cool ass dudes who are very focused on self improvement and would like to be more social and better with girls.

Even after years I still think a lot of the lingo and guys who get overly technical is pretty strange and probably counterproductive. What I think this community is great for: (1) meeting like minded dudes with a common goal and making new friends (while also getting laid) and (2) normalizing the behavior of approaching women in a non creepy way and getting out of your comfort zone.

If all you see is pop media or go with the norm you'd think just approaching a woman out of the blue is in itself strange and taboo and you should hold off for some miracle moment when things just happen to work with a pretty girl. Watching videos or getting involved in the community does at the very least make the behavior normal and acceptable.

Modern social conditioning turns a lot of would be alphas into emasculated messes. So you grow up in a society that teaches you all the wrong lessons to be successful with women. Most of what game works is just developing a strong masculine core and not doing needy/ beta shit. There's also yhe Social skillset of keeping the convo going and interesting. If you dont she will just ghost you and move on. Interacting with modern women will force you to devlop some sort of game naturally, or you truely will fail and be a loser. Having a community to compare notes with, and experts to learn from just speeds up the process.

The fact of the matter is you don’t know what you don’t know. You can assume that you understand how everything works, but it doesn’t mean that you actually do. For instance the average guy thinks that looks and money are all that matter and this is because his perspective is limited by his own anecdotal experience. Yes these things matter on some level, but you’re not totally fucked if you don’t have them.

I used to think that getting ripped and being an artist or musician would get girls and then over time I realized that people didn’t give a shit that I did any of those things. It didn’t hurt my chances, but it didn’t boost my dating life much.

Some people are not as well socialized as other people. They don’t grow up around strong role models for sexual or confident behaviors. Some people learn everything from TV and movies and all of that is fiction and not a true reflection of real life. So how bad someone needs these skills can really depend on what kind of environment someone grew up in.

There are a lot of different people in these communities because if there is one thing everyone in the world has in common it’s that they don’t want to die a lonely virgin. There are going to be a million different ideas and styles and it’s actually beautiful because you can customize that how ever you like it.

If you think the community is weird or dumb, I’d say just take what you need and leave the rest. There are things that just aren’t meant for you.

Sounds good, doesn't work. There is a huge gap between having high value and having the set of skills that leads to sex.

What makes high value peoples more inclined to get led is their boosted confidence, which give them less fear of going for a move with women or being themselves around peoples in general.

That still doesn't mean they know how to proceed as to be smooth and attractive. It will come with experience or through other sexually successful peoples. This is where game comes into play.

As you mentioned, game doesn't and shouldn't limit itself to seduction techniques towards women. In my opinion, this is about personal development, human psychology knowledge, freeing oneself of others considerations, peace of mind (meditation), and even more.

You got to learn the man to woman dynamics in order to have easy and enjoyable sex or relationships with each other

2) Try to learn from the guys who know what they are doing

The guys that choose option 2 at least have a chance and swallow their ego to find something amazing on the other side.

I feel like men over complicate this stuff. Is it really necessary to invest all this time into "game" ? Countless hours of reading books, watching videos, attending seminars, some guy even spend thousands of dollars to hire a coach. It seems extra.

It is a waste of time if you are as you said - a true alpha -, but if youre a loser, i guess it a way out of that position.

That sounds great, but even though i feel ''game'' is pathetic and for losers, i still want recognition and admiration, so i like to go out and hook up anyway, but it more or less happens if i want to or not, unless i willingly avoid it.

I also find the PUA community kinda strange. The PUA guys that teach it remind me of a bunch of David Blaine, magician, snake oil salesmen type characters. Its kinda like a big club for nerds , top hat wearing, chin beard sporting, edgy jewelry black clothes. Like they all shop at hot topic. I think PUA guys would make a really funny south park episode, If it hasn't been created yet.

This would be akin to going to a makeup sub and saying don't women ever feel ugly here because you wear makeup. If you were truly beautiful you would be confident to move through life without the mascara, just be natural.

The big mistake in learning game is that it's a skill to help you maximize your opportunities and not a band-aid a temporary fix. Maybe you never met guys with real game, but they are often the most driven individuals who are constantly improving in all facets of life. I'd always bet money on the guy who studies game to develop and lead a more fulfilling life than the naturally alpha guy who succumbs to middle age and begins to fade and become insecure because he has never had to cultivate the characteristics that embody good game.

Game is a skill set like learning another language. You’re effectively learning structure and responses in certain patterns to a level they become natural, whilst on the way improving yourself and becoming a better person.

Nobody is born a winner or looser, you become it. So either, can become the other. So you are learning to get from where you are currently, to a new place. It will take time, but will be worth it.

Sure, anything is a skill. And yeah, some people can just go out, give zero fucks, be unapologetically themselves, and things will be awesome for them. But some can't, and they want to learn how to be that way. That's where learning comes into play.

It's like with any sport, but screw it, we'll look at running. Some people can put on shoes, open the door, and all they have to do is run every day and they'll eventually run fast and long. But some people will try that and get injured immediately. So they will, and should, want to learn about form, muscle groups, diet, strategy, and anything else, to get better, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Honestly, I'm sick of this idea popping up again and again in here that "this is all bullshit, just be yourself, fuck it, don't think". Sure, that's great for some people, but we shouldn't look down on people who want to approach the topic from a learning aspect and for whom that doesn't come naturally, those who acknowledge that they can and want to get better. They're not losers, they're learning.

Guys on reddit try to read books on how to ride a bike, and watch videos of guys riding bikes, and try to analyse the different parts of a bike.

Part of my thinking is that PUA/game etc is basically all info that every 'normal' person already knows. I don't think i've ever read anything in a PUA book (and i've read them all) that I wasn't already kind of aware of (Not that I was a natural or good with girls. But I certainly realised that humour is attractive, not being too needy, how to pass a 'shit test' a general idea of 'push/pull so as not to keep some interest and suspense etc etc)

I don't think 'learning game' (god that saying makes me cringe) really gives one an 'edge' over a regular guy tbh, although it can be helpful if someone has ZERO social skills/heavily autistic etc

I don't like reading about this shit. I only do because its interesting when I approach and communicate with a women that has nothing to do with all these "How to" videos and realize I never needed to.
