Pardon the boast-y title, but I’m just confused and would like some differing opinions on my issue.

I don’t want to toot my own horn, but I’m a good looking guy. I’m often told this by my girl friends, guy friends, family, etc. I often have girls that are a bit less attractive than my target girls smiling at me and making moves (again I don’t want to sound like an asshole but I just want to tell it how it is to get accurate help).

I’m also quite social and cheeky when I flirt. With that said, I don’t understand what the issue is, but I quite often get rejected.

Usually, my approach is pretty straight forward. I approach a girl, whether in public or at a bar, introduce myself, be flirty, and sometimes even be a bit over the top in my attraction to them as a joke. For example: I’ll make a joke about “our future children” or something outlandish like that that is obviously not to be taken seriously. Anyways, I find that when I come in with the straightforward approach, girls are not into me. In short, I find that the more open I am about my attraction to them (whether conveyed through cheeky flirting or straight up telling them I think they’re beautiful and want to get to know them etc.), the less energy they give me back.

I don’t understand this. My culture is very upfront about this kind of stuff (Latin America) and I live in Canada and in the university demographic, so maybe it’s a cultural thing? I notice my friends that pretend they don’t like them or don’t express that much interest eventually getting the girl they want, but this just isn’t my approach and feels so wrong.

Anyways, I just don’t understand what it is. I’m handsome, social, funny, I’ve got a life, goals etc. But when I go up to a girl and express they just don’t give me anything back. The only girls that I have been satisfied with in my life have entered through other means (friends, classes) where I’m not dead set on my interest for them.

Anyways, help me out on what this could be, so appreciate you guys taking the time to read this!
