Any excuse to not get together without a counter offer (ie "I can't because I have to...but how about...") is a no. They know what you want if you show interest, so if they don't reciprocate it's a no, move on.

I think there's a study somewhere that men tend to see nice things or very platonic things as signs of interest but tend to miss actual signs of interest as well

Trust your gut I recently was chatting up this cutie and we agreed to a bar date. She works 50 hours a week as a nurse, and overslept a little. She said sorry and there was absolutely no signs of her planning on ghosting me or standing me up. We clicked like a chainlink fence. She was very flirty with me, plus some good lines from myself and we were bound to be together. Whenever I said something that would allude to making her being mine she would say “do you promise? :)” and honestly it was cute as fuck. She worked at 5:30 am and I work at 7:30am and I would wake up to a “i hope you have a good day babe :)” text in the morning. Anyway, she was a bit late and I snapped at her a bit. I knew before I sent the text that there was no signs of her standing me up, just an honest mistake on her part. I ruined it. The pain of regret was unbearable, thankfully I dont have much trouble finding girls that will date me.

1) It takes experience to understand what dating advice actually works. Most people giving advice have no idea what it’s like in a variety of scenarios across a wide spectrum of women. There’s usually 1-2 good posts in a thread that has 100 replies.

2) Not all eye contact is created equal. A girls eyes tell the story of her desire level. This takes experience to hone in on, but it’s also programmed into us to some degree. There’s an undeniable “look” in a girls eyes when she’s genuinely into you and you’ll feel it in your gut versus a glance or a girl that is just entertaining the convo because she’s bored
