The concept of the patriarchy is completely abstract and holds no merit under scrutiny. Feminists can't even collectively define terms like feminism or patriarchy. It falls apart like most conspiracies, it's either x or y not both. For instance the government is either evil and power mad with no accountability to its citizens with complete control, or the people voted for are all puppets and have no power and are simply there to comfort the citizens while the powers that be (corporations, the patriarchy, pick a scapegoat) are running things unchecked. I'm sorry but if the patriarchy was real, I'd be getting paid more, laid more, and the wife would let me have the remote control more often.

It's actually quite the opposite. Patriarchy theory implies that women are inferior. How else could men oppress them for all of human civilization? You also see this idea in the lifestyles they promote and disdain. They praise the more masculine career oriented woman while they view the more feminine family oriented woman as an exploited slave. They crow about men being trash and the like because it make them feel better about their assumed inferiority. The sad part is, if they actually valued femininity they might not need to put others down to raise themselves up.

That is exactly what it is about.

It's the hypothesis that men are naturally misogynistic, and application of this hypothesis to deconstruct everything else in society.

For example.

Problem: lesbian and bisexual women report more domestic violence than heterosexual women or men, and in particular, gay men.

Deconstruction: applying the rule of patriarchy, men hate women. Therefore the domestic violence lesbians and bisexuals report is from men from previous relationships.

I mean, it could just be that men don't report domestic violence as much because of the Duluth model.

But nope, at the kernel of this argument, gay men have less domestic violence because men hate women.

what they often forget is that patriarchy how they intend it is the natural course of events of men building the whole society we have today? i'm 100% sure that if women had the same physical traits of men and men the same of women things would have been the exact same with reversed roles, the whole reason they even have the opportunity to fight for their rights is because we built a world where to get food you just open the fridge, and to sleep there is non need for someone to guard the fucking cave from tigers and bears, and ofc if u put in the big work risking your life you expect some sort of privilege, the same way we have meritocracy now, don't get me wrong women should have equal rights, and for rights i mean opportunity, but somewhere along the way it got confused with them being entitled to the same rewards without putting the same amount of work, there is no conspiracy here, and neither we are scared of women taking control as they say it, we are too busy keeping society on track to think about all the bullshit, you see how there is basically no movement supporting men? that's because we got no time to spare for that, i wish i could sit on my ass all day writing on facebook about how oppressed i am, but i got a job.

You want the meanest definition of patriarchy? Women go 1st (they are the price) man must provide even if it breaks him, his emotions are worth jack-shit and he should always keep up unrealistic standards. No wonder boomer humor is full of “I hate my wife” jokes.

Now add feminism which asks everything the patriarchy asks out of a man, and add all the fking hatred on top of that. Equal rights equal fights? I don’t see women getting conscripted and I don’t see the banning of permanent alimony from all states and other countries which enforce it.

If you ask me, feminism is the movement that asks from men everything the patriarchy does and on top of that wants even denigrate them physically, mentally and morally, I knew where this shit was going and I wasn’t having it, fck the image of the providing male, and fck the image of the innocent woman, they can be vicious and total vixens, like any other human being. Take the man vs bear argument because that is how some women see you, worse than an animal and a fking donkey to be used and discarded in times of need.

"Patriarchy" is an application of Marxist dialectical politics to sexes instead of economics. In economics they have capitalists vs proletarians. They took the same model and made it men vs women. It doesn't work and leads to horribel conclusion for the same reason in both cases.

I think they just fear men too much, so they blame men in general and distrust men in positions of power. Or at the very least, those men have some expressions similar to the model of what they fear. The patriarchy is a real thing, but it's not a scheme to subjugate women - it was just what we came up with to regulate everybody. And like any other system, we humans at the top tend to abuse our power. Yes, not every rule makes sense, and most at the forefront are just following it normally. Plus, the way we portrayed the past is a bit biased and only focuses on the rich culture with the drama and subtleties, but forgets the other common folks who can't afford those types of things that feminists hate.

Plus, if you look at it, what they do is basically try to secure a fallback baseline for 'women' to minimize their fear. Since they can't do it upfront, we have the intellectual gymnastics to justify certain things. And they themselves get caught up in other things that are related, like the trans movement, Marxism, and other things, depending on what type of feminist they are.

If you believe that every society with men involved ended up with women being oppressed and subjugated, you’d have to believe male nature is inherently evil or inferior to women if you genuinely believe this.

Well, men would be morally inferior but superior in power.

But patriarchy theory is inconsistent, unproven and unfalsifiable.

If the patriarchy was at all serious, women wouldn't have any rights by now. Don't give me the ridiculous explanation, “we fought hard for our rights”.

A really oppressive system isn't impressed by hunger strikes: “You kill yourself? Oh, thanks for doing the work for us!”

Patriarchy theory would only have some sort of realism, if change was brought by a large uprising that at least threatened the stability of the social order.

Like the slaves led by Spartacus, who broke their chains and killed their masters until they were finally stopped by a huge army of eight Roman legions.

Through history, males and females have worked with each other to grow society. Most of this was with small societies or villages. A big issue is unprecedented population grown and density of human habitation.

The structures and roles are in a position of flux as we are navigating a massive change of humans roles of a small village mindset to a large city mindset.

Some issues at play include longer life expectancy, and lower childhood mortality rates and risks.

This has changed many of the dynamics of the past. Both males and females worked to provide to survive. The only exception was the elites.

The issue is with the large city model, the older terms of masculinity and femininity is slowly eroding to become a more androgynous society.
