To be fair, I used to think rape was a big deal. In the age of retractable consent, life destroying accusations, double standards with being drunk and generally women not even being sure themselves so they just let it happen it's definitely doesn't make me care nearly as much as it used too.

Rape used to carry heavy implications, now it is applied to everything, I'm not going to treat it like a single word that tells the whole story anymore.

"men don't think rape is a big deal" is such a wild take, considering how much men do just to make women feel comfortable, how much men do to protect women, considering the laws put into place to punish rape, how few men are actually even capable of rape(emotionally, psychologically or physically) and how few men actually rape despite most men being in a pretty awful place(romantically, sexually and systematically).

It is completely devoid of any reality, which really puts into perspective the entire bear thing. It's not men vs bear, it's the monsters women create in their heads about men(and aren't called out on) vs bear. It's also kind of rich, coming from the gender that still thinks women can't rape men.
