Completely understood, my first date was over a year after she left, and it still felt weird and almost like cheating. It got better, and it's more than 3 years out now, and feels fine, but definitely when you've only been interested in one person for 10+ years, it can be hard for some folks to feel 'normal' right away with someone else

Dating as an adult is hard. All I can say is reinstall the app and keep going. I pretty much went out any girl that would go out on a date with me. Some were duds. Some were great.

But it kept me from thinking so much about my Ex.

If it still feels weird then you are not ready. There is no time table. Take you time and work on you first before involving someone new to the mix.

A date is a date is a date. That is to say, take it for what it is. One night out. Just try and enjoy it, make a new friend, do something fun with another person. It doesn’t have to lead to anything but a night out. Of course it’s going to feel weird, she’s probably damaged and most likely you are too. Move forward with what you need to do.

Love to hear this! Getting back into the dating scene has been incredibly fun, especially when you match with someone who matches your energy.

I just got back from a second date with a literal succubus. Our first date, we were in the middle of the dance floor and while she was doing the butterfly the move where she rubs her ass on my buttonfly, I caught myself saying out loud “Kianna (ex wife) never made me feel like this ever!”.

For the first time in what seemed like a very long time my soul came to life. There were many days post divorce that I wondered if my soul would ever forgive myself for neglecting it. I felt like I was going to live life never getting that sweet oxytocin hit ever again. And there I was on a random Saturday evening - the happiest man alive in the moment.

It’s crazy but at this very moment right now, I finally feel like I’m fuxkn winning.

I felt the same after going on a date. I don't think I can connect with anyone anymore because I have such a high level of distrust.
