They are ignoring the fact that millions of women support Trump out of their own agency and millions of men support the Democratic Party against Trump out of their own agency.

Yes I totally understand. And there's a lot of untapped potential I can get into.

Though to some extent, I'm trying to be pragmatic and strategic. Kamala being a woman does still help motivate women voters, and in several cases add at least a tad of internal conflict for women on the right.

So the message of "motivate the women" is one I don't really have an issue with. It's the "save us from the men" attitude. So I do try to be precise.

But yeah, the left has done this sequence a lot: 1. "All of these bad things are being done by men. It's because of their gender"

Men start to leave or new generations are disinterested because they feel blamed for things they weren't around to do, or didn't have any power to do.
Right wing says "Do you feel blamed for all of this? We won't do that."
Men move to the right.
"See? We were right. It's because they are sexist."

It's frustrating, too. Because there is a lot of untapped potential for being able to bring in men's issues. Many of them are low-hanging fruit. Mental health issues. Suicide. Homelessness.

Unbalanced home life is a good one: 1. Talk about women doing the majority of domestic household work. Yes it is biased by how domestic housework is defined.

Talk about how men have the majority of workplace injuries and work the majority of overtime.
Now you can speak to women feeling restricted to these roles, talk about men feeling they aren't valuable as a father, a spouse, and a person, but as a paycheck. Talk about men and women coming together for the freedom of both.
De-emphasize "women vs the patriarchy" and emphasize "The Old way vs The New way." We play it like Marjorie Taylor Greene doesn't represent women at all, but that Trump DOES represent men. It might be tactical to say that both are caricatures. Stereotypes of their respective genders. And that we are against that.

The thing is, it wouldn't take much before it starts showing effectiveness.

I generally feel like I'm expected to vote on the left because it is some "duty to make up for the evils of my gender" or something. That attitude pushes me away. I'm not on the left BECAUSE of that attitude, but DESPITE it.

It feels like women demanding that I have their back, while they are going to kick me in the back anyway, regardless of my position. A lot of guys just need SOMETHING to know that the left is listening to their issues. Make it feel more "welcome aboard" and less "oh so you've come to apologize."

In of my best relationships ever, I dated a girl who was much more into men's issues than I was. When someone is a little too headstrong on one worldview, I tend to play devil's advocate. This meant that when we would discuss gender, she would be defending my gender, and I would be defending hers. So at no point did I feel like I had to make some tradeoff between defending her, and sticking up for myself. The two were aligned, and the discussions just flooooowed.

What is always ignored is that voting leftwing is essentially a rational no-brainer for women because it is pretty much overall in favour of their own self-interest. It is very easy for women to vote leftwing, it doesn't really come with a strong costs or much risks, at least not directly. The fact that many women still don't vote leftwing is essentially just because people aren't rational in general.

For men it is far more complicated, me voting leftwing means that I will be voting for a combination of things that might benefit and harm my self-interest. No women needs to think about how voting leftwing will mean that they will take away her job opportunities, her rights to equality under the law or her right to help. But men do need to think about that, because the left is currently sexist against men.

It's not because women are more virtuous than men, it's because they face pretty much no risk for voting leftwing.

The only reason to vote for Harris is to keep Trump out of office. It's sadly, as always, a choice of upholding the already abysmal status quo or letting said status quo slip ever more into pure christo-facist territory.

The goofy-ass libs who think Harris will be any better than a generic dem and usher in some patriarchy smashing era or whatever are gonna be in for a RUDE awakening if she wins.

I do think on the very outside edge of optimism, if we vote Harris in we can go from there. It's an incrementalistic mindset. And I hate it. But it's the goal, for now.

the worst part about this rhetoric is that it is alienating to a large swath of the electorate, maybe especially towards that part of the electorate that we are supposedly supposed to be reaching out to.

ain't no dyed in the wool feminist going to be changing their vote one way or another this election.

there are however huge swaths of populist geared union folks that are up for grabs. never trumpers who may either suck it up and vote trump, suck it up and sit it out, or suck it up and vote biden, all of whom matter this election cycle and how they suck it up matters too.

these are the obama voters that voted trump, the sanders voters who snubbed clinton (in no small part bc of this shit rhetoric), and those same sanders voters who sucked it up and voted biden.

folks spreading the 'women will save us' rhetoric are a detriment to the left. they ought be ridiculed and silenced by anyone that actually wants to defeat trump. these kind of women will see the world end before they admit they are wrong, or that their concerns aren't central to the cause.
