Yesterday, I went on another date, and it actually went pretty well. We got along, had a good conversation, lightly flirted, and the date lasted a total of six hours. At some point during the date, she suggested that we go back to her place to eat since she wanted to change her clothes and was also having some stomach pain.

So, we went to her place, cooked a nice meal together, and her best friend briefly joined us since she lives with her. We all had a good chat before her friend eventually left. Later on, I decided to head home and chose not to push for a kiss or anything more that night because, on one hand, she was clearly in discomfort since her stomach pain didnt go away, and on the other, I didn't feel that the moment was right for me to make that move. However, she did ask me about going on another date next week.

Earlier today, though, her best friend reached out to me and asked if I was queer. I find the question a bit puzzling. I know she’s involved in the queer scene and is bi, but still, the question caught me off guard. Is it really just because I didn’t push things further that night?

This isn’t something that happens to me often, but it has happened enough for me to find it peculiar. Is it because I care about my appearance, and without sounding arrogant, I look good and work out to get attention but am still single? Because even though others often show interest in me, I tend to be more reserved and only make a move when it feels right? Or is it simply because I treat my dates like human beings rather than objects?

I’m not bothered by the question itself, but I find it frustrating that these stereotypes get applied so readily. Also my response wasnt the best since i asked how she got the vibe that i may be queer and denied it.
