I met this incredible woman while on a trip to Nashville, had a weekend together, and have since each returned to our normal lives… unfortunately for me I can’t stop thinking about her.

After meeting up and staying together all 3 nights we were in town, we have continued to text since returning home. During our time together, we found out that we only live a little more than 1 hour from one another, and each spoke about making a visit to see one another.

After a few days of being back and plenty of fun flirty conversation, I asked her if she had plans next week, because I’d love to take her out. The response was “I’ll have to check my schedule, I’ll let you know”. Obviously this isn’t a great sign for the date, but I tried to shrug it off and keep being normal in convo.

While things have been fine in the 3 days since, the amount of communication has noticeably dropped off and now I feel like I’m bugging her if I do try to reach out. I get that she genuinely is busy, but it’s hard not to feel like I came on too strong and blew it.

I really want to talk to her and get to know her more, but am trying to give her space and put the ball in her court. While it’s possible she gets back and says yes to the date, I don’t think it’s likely.

So at this point I feel sad and defeated, not necessarily because I got told no, but because I messed up what seemed to be a really good flow. Any recommendations on ways to mend, or on the other side, ways to cope?
