Something that comforts me to think of is that whatever opinion you hold, there is likely someone smarter and/or more knowledgeable who has a different one.

AI art is very controversial right now and artists don't always agree on what's AI. Some people are anti-AI in all cases, while others don't like AI gen and might be fine with AI enhancement. I have seen some cases where the artist says no AI, did multiple sketches, did fine detail l, many individual layers and still get raked across the coals because some artists remain unconvinced while the general public has stopped giving a crap.

If this is someone who has worked with your husband awhile, your husband may feel like it's immoral to reject this person without more concrete proof. He might have had similar concerns and already looked in it and is satisfied with the answers he found. He also might not care as much as you whether the artist used AI as long as he's pleased with the final result - he might want to turn a blind eye here. He might not have the time or the resources to redo the work. He might face reputational risk if he yanks the design and has to tell the public or his clients. I don't know - the point is, you've said your piece and he has his reasons.

People are going to trust their own judgement above all. In terms of how good something feels, it's: succeeding on your own judgement, succeeding on someone else's, failing on your own judgement, failing on someone else's. It doesn't have much to do with you personally. It's just human nature.

I read your comments about further details! I'm sorry this is all the case. I wanted to mention that for lots of men many times they need to hear multiple other people who meet a certain level of expertise power in the field parrot your view in order for him to consider it being ai or not.

Not saying it's right or wrong, or that you or are right or wrong. Just giving 1 potential solve that works more times than it doesn't.

How would you arrange such a thing & still come off as respectful? That's the tricky part - since the people he interacts with that may share your take is wholly up to him. Some things are more out of our Sphere of control than others.

But say you really wanted him to see it your way (thats fair enough to want :)), possibly interview some artists or make a post about a similar piece of art or several pieces even, that resembles qualities & traits of the piece in question. Then go to the dude asking if the art if ai or not, out of genuine curiosity of his opinion & why. Then give him the evidence from other artists who previously commented on the piece otherwise. Then at the end make it clear to him you did this out of love & could care less about being right & that you just don't want anyone to get the best of him bc you care about him

You can't make him respect your judgment, especially if you don't have a dominant personality. Just let it go and let him lose the money, he will have to learn from his mistake the hard way.

That’s a tough situation. I hope that it’s more that he just doesn’t want to feel foolish than that he doesn’t trust your judgment or expertise.

The only thing I can think of is to find ways to prove that it’s AI. I wouldn’t know the first thing about how to do so, but I’m pretty sure someone does. Perhaps a tool or app that can recognize AI? I’m pretty sure one does exist.

Or you can demonstrate how to use AI and replace said worker or business with it.

Full text: In general I tend to be very feminine and trust my partner's decisions, but this situation is a bit different.

Context: My partner runs a business and constantly gets work deliveries for it from workers. One of these jobs was billed as handmade and was actually made with ai. I noticed it because I’m a designer and I can easily tell the difference.

My intention in telling him is not to be right, I am not interested, but to help him know that he is being scammed! But no matter how hard I tried to explain the reasons to him, he would not agree. So I end up telling him just: okay…

It makes me feel bad that he keeps getting scammed and I can't do anything about it. Honestly it also makes me feel sad that he doesn't trust my judgement as I always trust his.

It sounds like the real issue is that you're taking him being wrong this particular time personally, like an affront to you. Ask yourself: has he sometimes been wrong about things you also didn't know the answer to? Has he sometimes been wrong and then changed his mind after talking to you? Then clearly this incident is not rational grounds to be offended, since he's not setting himself against you just to be against you. He just happens to be wrong about this thing. Like a normal person sometimes is.

Someone in our church recently made a homemade calendar for everyone filled with questionably arranged photo collages of images I'm sure are not all public domain, with one month notably being filled by a large AI generation. I get it. Lots of people don't see it.

Are you giving him unsolicited advice regarding HIS business? Probably not the best idea to give someone business advice unless they ask you for it. If you mentioned it once, just to be nice, it is still his choice to run his business the way that he sees fit. It doesn’t mean that he doesn’t value your opinion…it is more about you having respect that he knows what’s good for his business and you just have to trust him on that. I ask you this respectfully….If you had your own business and your husband was always giving you input without you asking for his help, wouldn’t that annoy you? Just wondering if it works the same if the situation is reversed. (This is a man writing for reference).

Is he paying for it? Im a little confused on what the business is so the situation isnt making much sense to me. The only issue id have is if it was affecting yalls money. But this also depends if yall are married or not bc most ppl dont combine finances till marriage
