Day 2, my lawyer emailed me a bunch of forms to fill out, financials and all of that stuff. My wife is hiding our marriage certificate and tax returns. Anyone else have this happen?

Yes, most people I've advised have not disclosed financials their spouse won't know about. The court expects you to settle on a $ amount they can stamp. Its not the IRS or dept of treasury to investigate finances. Whatever is disclosed will be split, anything hidden will become separate property.

For taxes you can retrieve them from an IRS website. I forget the exact link but they will send them to you.

Yeah don't sweat it. If your STBEX turned them in to her lawyer, your lawyer can get those records. It's not a big deal.

My attorney just told me to state something along the lines of "In the possession of the plaintiff" and to just move along and that she will have to provide those documents.

It should take your accountant less than 15 mins to find your tax returns and email them to you.

For marriage certificate, go to your country registrar’s office and pay to get a duplicate copy. Half hour tops.

If you just don’t feel like doing either of those, give your attorney whatever docs you can get a hold of. Anything in sole possession of your stbx, she will have to share with her attorney which will make its way to your attorney sooner or later and eventually in your hands as well. That’s what I did and it worked out just fine in the end.

License is probably also searchable in county records. You can get IRS tax transcripts
