Here's something most people won't agree with:

ALL women are looking for relationships. Girls usually end up in "casual" situations for one of 3 reasons:

1) they are obsessed with a guy and he won't give them a real relationship so all they can get is sex.

2) the guy they really like won't give them the time of day, so they bang a placeholder until they can get the guy they really like.

3) they are just damaged and can't emotionally comnect with anybody.

So, you can just ask them or if they have it on their profile then there you go you don't even need to ask. However, it's not as simple as just taking their word for it. So, here's the deal. The only way to know is to make a move. Your fundamental issue here is you are trying to avoid having your sexual advances rejected. That's impossible if you want to have sex. You just have to try to fuck them and if they reject it, it might not even be a real rejection, she might let you later that night or the second date. But they actually oftentimes respect you more for at least trying. It's when you don't try for weeks and months that they think you're a bitch and put you in the friendzone.

I think there's already a big problem with your assumption that the two options are mutually exclusive.

Many women are horny, and want a relationship.

You can definitely sleep with a woman on a second or third date because you are being attentive to their meetings, you are a great conversationalist, you are making eye contact and making her feel comfortable.

Will it result in a relationship? Who knows. But you can both be happy.

Just please don't be one of those guys who abuses a woman's trust and sleeps with her and then leaves her unexpectedly, making her more wary in the future. And also, be a good lover.
