Guys get it all backwards here. We come here and focus on understanding female dynamics, try to make sense of every behaviour and word and nuance, the details of how they think how they feel how they operate, so we can use that knowledge to manipulate them into validating us.

Then, for some, we fail enough times and stop caring about female dynamics, or we succeed at the manipulation and realize we still feel empty, that winning her validation is unfulfilling and meaningless. We start to realize we need to understand ourselves, what makes us who we are? What do we want from this life? How can we make it happen? We stop living every moment to manipulate a woman to validating our hollow selves and start becoming a whole person. The handling women thing becomes effortless because it's priority 9 on your list.

OP I tell my wife if I'm going to be home later than normal. I do that because that's what I like to do. The only time I do things to get a reaction out of her is when I'm playing with her, not because I need to see if she cares. Of course she cares, I'm the fucking prize.

You clearly did this to get some kind of reaction out of your wife - you made this big explanation to us of not telling her, so don't bother denying it - and now that you got a reaction you want us to tell you what your wife's reaction means is happening in her head?

Really think about this, don't just give the first thought that comes to mind - why do you care so much what she's doing/saying/thinking, or her motivation behind it? What's the end goal there?

If you've got everything dialed in, and you text "Going to grab a beer with Jim after work, should be less than an hour." Her response would be "Say hi for me!" or something else.

I think that letting your wife know you'll be late is a nice thing to do.

If you don't let her know because you honestly forgot or couldn't be bothered; that's perfectly fine too.

The wrong thing to do is: spending 15 minutes calculating what the best response is, weighting all your options, deciding the loss:benefit ratio of her getting mad vs. you being a sigma alpha manly manlord and then finally deciding not to tell her because that'll show her who the boss is.
