Has anyone gone through the experience where your ex wife creates a false victim narrative? I’m worried she’s going to poison our mutual friends painting herself as a victim and claiming I’m an abuser. For the record, I’ve never cheated, abused or threatened her in any way, or anything even close. I can understand she’s hurt and a 10+ year break up is painful. I’m hurting too.

But this is emotional manipulation. I can see she’s replying to threads where redditors are talking about their traumatic experiences of abuse. I don’t know if this is attention seeking on her end or if she’s been building a story of victimhood in her head. Her multiple mental health diagnoses I’m sure are not helping the situation.

Any advice on how to move forward? I’ve done a lot of self reflection and realize I haven’t been the best husband. I will learn and grow as a man from this. But any advice on how to keep up your self esteem and not buy into emotional manipulation and false claims? And how to make sure your friends see the truth rather than fabricated lies?
