1) Clean sheets and blankets, a few different cozy blanket options.

2) 3-4 pillows of various types, feather, gel, cotton -- king/queen mushy pillows seem to be preferred. Pillows should be relatively new and clean, with pillowcases.

3) High thread count cotton sheets, don't get too satiny. Lighter colors tend to be more favored, but also show body fluid stains more easily. Avoid black. Have a mattress pad under the fitted sheet, and a flat sheet

4) the room should be tidy, with a clean / clear path to the bathroom.

5) the bathroom should be immaculate. She will 100% judge your cleanliness based on how clean your bathroom is.

6) Have tissue boxes, paper towels, new toiletries, etc. available. Small shampoo bottles, lotion bottles, etc. are usually highly welcome. The trash can in your bathroom should have a liner and a lid.

7) Lighting in the bedroom should be close to natural, not harsh / blue. Lamps in corners, candles, etc.

8) Get a super comfy chair for the room: papasans are awesome, and girls like to sit in them wearing next to nothing.

not trying to give a flippant answer here, but start by making a bed that YOU don't want to leave. If you're asking this question, I assume it's because you have a bed that you just sort of tolerate but don't really enjoy sleeping in that much.

women will have different tastes in bedding among them, but if you get a bed setup that you love, some women will probably love it too

Wash your (high thread count cotton) sheets once a week and replace things before they get grody/lumpy/threadbare and you're doing better than 99% of men.

Soft comfy mattress like memory foam for instance. The mattress atop its own platform bed that's sturdy, doesn't creak, doesn't move. It must feel solid. Surrounding the mattress, a beautifully ornate bed frame, heavy and richly colored. Dark sheets, like a dark blue for instance. Purple (not the silly kind of purple,the royal kind) micro fiber duvet wrapping a heavy but fluffy boxed down comforter. Don't be afraid of a little weight. It's magic. More pillows than you think you'd need. It has to feel like home.

All this atop an area rug. She mustn't get out of bed at any point and feel anything cold underfoot. If you have tile or hardwood, this is critical. Hella bonus if you have aesthetic sensibility enough to match the carpet to the bedding in some way.

If the furniture is a set you're golden but even the most beautifully ornate set will be boring so don't be afraid to mix in textures. Glass, stone, natural materials. Plants are great!

I like lighting I can command by voice. Something that changes colors. I adore mood lighting.

Scents are not to be ignored however scented candles and febreeze ( 🙄 ) like others have suggested are a massive no no. Natural scents derived from natural sources outweigh chemical concoctions every time. Best if it's hard to tell the source of the smell. The scent should be used with a light touch as well. Scents like bergamot and lavender imo are ideal. Fruity or vanilla scents are played out and she may even be nose blind to them. Think familiar, yet foreign. Let the scent suit your personality. Lightly dangerous, perhaps?

You're going for an overall aesthetic. It must be cohesive with the rest of the house. You can't focus only on the bedroom and leave the rest of the house dull. The house is your bedroom.

cleanliness is number one. Then size, at least a queen, nobody will ever leave a king. Then after that I'd say a lot of pillows because most women I've known love pillows.

God I was sleeping with this dude whose bed was fucking AWFUL. Like way too soft. The middle of the bed would sink in. I've got back problems so that was NOT IT.

Not the bed itself, but invest in odor control. Candles, incense, a diffuser, even the plug in wall febreze things. Women notice smells. Nothing makes them want to leave faster then the smell of something stale or mild fermentation. Plus she'll notice if you took the time to invest in the atmosphere as well.

Things washed and clean of course but it’s really just Satin pillowcases, silk sheets or high thread count sheets and flat sheets also(target has some nice ones for $100+, a nice duvet preferably filled with down with a well designed cover. Pillows of different types like a side sleeper pillow, a back sleeper pillow, a soft cloud type and a pillow or liberator you only use to put under women’s hips.

More important than OP's question is to make it comfortable for you every night. Invest in a quality mattress, quality pillows and a HEPA level air purifier for the room. If it's good for you it's likely good for others. And as others said, wash the sheets and keep the room clean. Making the bed daily is a good habit for everyone to have no matter your dating status. Beyond that, you have nothing to worry about.

I love a cold, crispy bed. 100% natural materials - mine is a mix of percale (supima is also good) cotton, linen, silk. Muslin cotton blankets within arms reach anywhere - beds, couches, etc. They’re so soft, cuddly, and lightweight.

I’m also a pillow snob. MO are my recent splurge. No ragrets.

Even if I ever find a guy I like I won’t be sleeping over unless their bed rivals mine. 🤣

I’m a Virgo rising, so I might be a little pickier about the details and cleanliness. Most men don’t check all the boxes, but any of these would help imo: Keep everything clean, even when you don’t have a guest. There’s a strange smell in most bachelors bedrooms(occasionally their entire place). Air purifier, fan, LIGHTLY scented candles. Go easy on the smelly stuff, it can be a turn off. I chose a guest bedroom with one guy, because his room had a febreeze thing in it. Keep it clean, wash bedding once a week, and open windows regularly. That’s usually enough. Nice pillows, adjustable bed is a plus. Tidy bedside tables. We need space to put our phones, water, etc. Fresh bedding, sheets with high thread count are nice(Egyptian cotton 🤤). I personally am not into the red satin sheets etc, it’s a bit gaudy. But, a light colored satin pillow case is nice. Don’t clutter your bedroom with too much furniture. Soft lamps. It’s nice to have a chair to put clothes on. Nice soft clean rug, for cold floors. Also, keep the bathroom very clean. Soap to wash hands. Towels. Bachelor toilets are usually pretty gross. If it’s something you don’t have time for, hire a cleaning service , at least once a month. Also, I LOVE animals, but make sure you clean up the hair/keep litter boxes clean, if you have a pet. * If you have a roommate, make sure there’s a lock on the door. Roommates are usually going to be creepy.

Bedding and materials I do not know. Taste differs. What I do know is this: a nice, large mirror opposite your bed. Good bedposts. Good rails. Good manacles. And she won’t leave the first time around.
