Are there any good resources, short of paying a lawyer, to get advice on how to split assets? We're using an attorney-led mediation service, so they're going to be neutral. I know my STBX is very good at wrapping her selfishness in logic, so I'd like an idea before we start negotiations on what I should fight for. I'm trying not to antagonize her, but I also need to look out for myself.

For example, there's an IRA in her name that we'd earmarked as being for our kids' education (we also have a 529). She wants ro take it off the table since it's for the kids. I say it's in her name, and so it's a marital asset that needs to be split.

I may try chatgpt, but I don'thave much faith in it. I just want to be informed without shelling out too much more to lawyers.
