I don’t think that things are bad if the supply of women willing to sugar date is going down. People should be looking for actual relationships with their attractiveness matches, and sugar dating just allows unattractive men to have fake relationships with women out of their league, which is not what the ideal is.

I think most people arent involved in sugar dating, so whatevers going on in that side of the world has no impact on regular people who date normally.

I think there are some key reasons for what you're witnessing that are missing here.

There was a time where one of those types of sites, maybe Seeking Arrangements, was aggressively advertising on Reddit. I was genuinely shocked to see something like that just openly being promoted. You can open insights on ads to see who they're targeting. One of the groups listed was literally just "women."

And yeah these ads mainly featured attractive people running around on beaches and having luxury vacations.

No idea where else they may have advertised or might be advertising. But they were certainly trying to sell an image of sugar dating as this glamorous luxurious lifestyle where you make serious bank for agreeing to go on dates with men who are like in their mid 30s tops.

Another piece to this pie is influencer culture. There are influencers who openly claim to be sugar babies and I wager make more money off their content than actually seeing clients, if they truly see any clients at all. Are you gonna get more followers, likes, and revenue by talking about the gross and unsexy parts of the lifestyle? I have a feeling the answer is no. You're gonna take the Seeking approach and make it look like you're having the time of your life with hot men who are just a couple years older.

I can already get nice dinners and sex if I want from the dating apps, so if I'm going to be a sugarbaby, it better be worth it for me (and not traumatizing). I'm not desperate for money, so I can afford to be choosy about the amount and the guy.
