Yuck I had a similar dating experience with a guy that was exactly the same. We had the most awesome chemistry and the long deep dates but he said I was his girlfriend and the next time I saw him he took me to dinner then sat me down and started explaining how he didn't want to commit and how he wasn't sure about me and had a bad feeling about me... after he previously told me i.was the one for him and he's so lucky and how he could see us getting married and getting a house together... so I stayed and ate the dinner but in the parking lot he kept trying to spew the bs and I was like get out of my way im gonna head out. I told him he should have known by now and that he was doing a lame cop out.

They really can fool us sometimes. I'm proud of you though. But you're right and you called him on his bs. If all those romantic things they say about knowing and wanting us are true then after a few dates and all the time getting to know us they shouldn't be hesitating so much.

This is why we date with a mindset of abundance and date multiple men! He should be the one to bring up commitment and exclusivity.

As soon as he told you his intentions, you should've blocked him and moved on. I understand why you tried to talk him into choosing you, but he showed you who he was. You should've immediately lost interest and moved on. Lesson learned.

Good, and next time around just know that if a man makes you feel insecure enough you feel like you have to be the on bringing up commitment then you don’t want him.

That said, we need a term for this kind of male behavior. Where they come on strong, contact you constantly, and act incredibly emotionally interested, only to dip out when they realize their behavior somehow gave you the crazy idea they want to date you for real. Lovebombing Lite?

Huge red flag. These are the type of guys who do not like to lay down real groundwork for a long-term relationship. They rather exploit interactions to satisfy their own emotion-vulture tendencies before getting bored and moving on to the next innocent person. When getting to know a man, he should be proving himself to you consistently before you reveal the deeper parts of yourself bit by bit. Each piece of yourself that you reveal is a privilege that is earned. And even in marriages lasting many years, there should still be cards that you hold closer to your chest. Revealing all of them right away cheapens the foundation that your relationship is built on.

Make sure to block him in everything on your side, that way if he ever gets the audacity to unblock and reach out again (very probably in the hopes you "learned your lesson") he won't be able to.

Am I the only one who thinks 5 dates is too quick for exclusivity? At that point you should not have had sex yet and I would personally consider myself single and be open to dating others, so I would consider it fine for the guy to also be open to dating others.

For me the 2 month mark is when I would leave if he still wanted to keep dating new people.

I think the moment we have to bring up exclusivity is the the moment we should walk away. I feel like if I want that the man should want it 100x more. This guy you were seeing really made me angry. I’m like fuming over here. Idk who he thinks he is but he is awful
