Well y'all, things didn't work out.

The man I was dating had taken me out on two wonderful dates. We talked for hours, texted all day, talked on the phone. I felt really, really accomplished about following RP advice, and it truly felt like a victory for me because I had struggled implementing many ideals prior to this guy (Talking about my job/work too much, being negative/complaining, etc.).

We had a date planned for Saturday night, an Italian restaurant we'd both been dying to try. It was near the end of this date I had planned to explain my sexual terms to him, since our last date had ended with a very brief discussion of that.

Friday night at 2:30am my phone rings. It's him. He's completely wasted. He says he's driving around (DRIVING?!) and he's lost, but he wants me to come over and have sex. Immediately, I was concerned for his safety and the safety of, y'know, everyone else who could be on the road, so I told him I'd pick him up and take him home because he was way, way too drunk to drive. I lost a friend to drunk driving. I don't care who someone is or what time it is, I will offer to take them home.

He insists a friend is coming to get him. He continues asking me to come over. I say no. The conversation ends.

The next morning he apologizes. I offer to discuss this in person, and he ignores my request and changes the subject. So I stated my terms and said, "I am interested in dating and eventual relationships, not casual sex. If you don't feel the same, that's fine, but I'm just putting this out there. I am not interested in a 2am booty call."

And his response was, verbatim, "Yeah, it's just physical for me."

I wished him the best of luck in his endeavors and said it seemed we were looking for different things.

On one hand, I'm proud of the way I conducted myself on the two dates I went on. As I said, huge victory for me to change my past behaviors and really be conscious of how I'm seen in the eyes of a men. So I learned a lot, and I'm ready to apply it to my next dating endeavor, but I think I'll be taking a break until the New Year.

Thanks for reading. I really appreciate all the insight on my last post. And y'all were right - it's better to get the expectations clear ASAP. I'm glad this man and I did not have to waste each other's time further.
