I would actually like to be Reddit nerdy and entitled guy just for a day. Their problems are literally no enough likes on tinder and women giving them fake numbers. And our problems are: rape, misogyny, murder, being stalked, getting assaulted, violence, work discrimination, wage gap......so yeah.

This attitude that men take to completely dismiss women by telling us our fears are invalid, especially when shown evidence of true reason for our fears, makes me sick. My stomach is tight from reading his responses, literally.

I was just thinking of this when I was brushing my teeth this morning, the valid fear we have of deranged men. Going somewhere and having to keep in the back of your mind to watch out.

The other night in my karate class (live online so it’s been teens and I’ve been the only adult student), the instructor had everyone place their hands on their diaphragms and make the kiai, to feel the yell etc. I’ve never liked the kiai, it doesn’t make sense to me in an actual fight.

The instructor went on to say that yelling at the opponent is a scare tactic. I disagree. With men, it makes them either more aggressive (with men) and especially with women, they never take us seriously in words. So, if they are attacking a woman, does one really think a battle yell is going to scare him?

Hahahahahah No.

This is why I’ve been bringing up they need to have women put in feedback. Just you know, life experience of encountering men that think because they go for you, you MUST accept. I’ve been called a bitch, a lesbian, you name it for rejecting some strange man’s advances.

These same men say this until they are dating you. Then it’s like “Don’t stop anywhere late at night.” and “Where are you going looking like that? You know how men are!” Oh and “You’re going there by yourself?”

Then and only then are they fully aware of what men can do to us.

I was raised heavily in gun culture. I do not carry. Men willy nilly advocate for women carrying guns. The problem with this, I believe, is that, at close range, women are not fundamentally safer with a firearm. A “CCW” is a concealed carry weapon, which means a handgun. Even police who routinely train with firearms are often woefully inaccurate under pressure.

Now imagine being a woman, in a situation, in which you may choose to use a firearm. The chances are, it will be someone you know, and they will also be closer than 21 feet. This is the approximate distance a human can cover in a few seconds so if you hesitate even SECONDS a man could wrestle your weapon and use it against you.

I believe it’s a woman’s choice. But when men say “oh just carry a gun”, it’s not that simple, and frankly it is patronizing.

I always always have a fake number.also I think a good idea to have the dude you've never met yet to take a picture of him holding a pen so you know his pics are up to date.If they won't comply say goodbye.Just tell him its for your security.
