Picnic under the stars
Fishing/Hiking/River Float/etc
Gourmet cooking together, something really fancy that needs 4 hands, and enjoying a night in
Movie night on a living room floor picnic, can be paired with above idea
Building forts (if your man is into that sort of childish nonsense, cuz if so it can be awesome but if not then definitely can be too silly haha)
Finding restaurant with outdoor seating and savoring a glass of wine/whiskey together at dusk
Going to a pool hall
Dance lessons
Strolling a downtown area
Having a night out in your nearest city and exploring a new place
Let him pick out your outfit and do an activity that suits your attire
Drive-in theatres if you have one nearby, a favourite of mine
Exploring a museum of something that interests him
Going to a cafe/bookstore and exploring/reading/chatting for a few hours

One of our favorite things to do for date night is reenact our earlier dates. So we go back to the putt putt golf place where we snuck out like fugitives after putting crab apples in the ball machine and broke it. Back to the Barnes and Noble where we discovered you can people watch from the balcony and see right down ladies' shirts (and our first make out session was in the medical resources section). We love to have dinner at the sushi restaurant where we first met - where I passed his first test of being a sushi lover. It's fun to reminisce about the new love we had.

I love taking classes together. Whether it be karate or yoga or cooking just seeing how the other person learns is such a great experience.

One thing I like doing is getting to work early so I can ditch out early. That way I can surprise him with dinner on the table when he gets home. I get all dolled up (hair, makeup, etc.) Put out fancy plates and candles on the table just because its Tuesday or whatever.

yes! I'm excited about this thread. I'm awful at coming up with ideas for things to do! Usually I'm stumped and look on Facebook's "events" or browse Living Social to get some ideas.

Dates for people who like to get their bodies moving and eat! My SO and I love to be active and love to eat so here are some of our favorites.

Bicycle rides to an ice cream shop.

Stand up paddleboarding and margaritas.

Nighttime downhill skiing and hot coco in the lodge.

Ice skating and apple cider.

Rock climbing and going to a gastropub.

Curling and pizza.

Crossfit and protein shakes.

Yoga and fresh juice. (Had to balance out crossfit!)

We also like going to: College sports games
Movies
Free outdoor concerts in our city
Going to the beach
Camping
Pumpkin/Apple/Strawberry/Raspberry picking
Fourwheeling on his parents property
Walking the dog Flying drones (well he flies them, I usually just end up crashing)

***EDIT: Get on the mailing list of your local parks, state/national forests, nature preserves! One of my all time favorite dates was at a nearby nature preserve. A 1.5 mile candle and moonlit hike and then a 25 minute lecture around a campfire about bats! Romantic and educational!

We both have metal detectors, but we usually just take one - he searches, and I dig, and then we trade tools. We mostly find junk, but we're holding out hope for gold!

We bike all over the place - it's how we found the house we are now buying! We go through the neighborhoods by us so it's quiet enough to chat and download about our day.

We don't do many "dates", but we do a lot of hobbies together - we brew beer and kombucha together, and cook fancy dinner and desserts.

My favorite dates (aside from actual travel) are where we have a "stay-cation". We make a fort in the living room, get a fire going, cook smores, drink beer and wine, play board games, and have lots of sex. We ignore our phones Friday night through Sunday night and just make the world about the 2 of us!

Frugal Dates:

A long walk early in the morning, see the ducks or other local park life.
Pack a lunch and eat somewhere interesting, such as somewhere with a lot of foot traffic
Look for free events, your city probably has a website or Facebook. Our city regularly holds free concerts and events
Free or low cost museums

We live in a rural area, so there are a lot of outdoor activities that my husband and I enjoy as dates. We both love shooting, so trips to the range or going hunting (in season) are two of his favorites. We also love to take a blanket out to a field or other open place during a meteor shower and watch the shooting stars while snuggling. (Persied's meteor shower is August 12th...mark your calendars!) Walks in the woods or down to the lake are simple but fun.

If we're going to the city, we like to go to the symphony, movies, ice skating, and car shows. The next thing on my list is swing dancing lessons!

I love this post! Here's what we do:

Thrifting (1/2 off weekends are our tradition!)
Used Book Stores & Coffee. My favorite is when we both find a book for the other person.
Dollar Store nights. We both grab $5 and buy whatever for a fun night in, using only what we pick up. It's a challenge, depending on the shop.
Dollar Movies.
Mushroom Hunting (we made a good amount on Morels this year!) *Hiking, then grabbing a beer. He picks the trails, and I pack the food.
Daytrip drives to National Parks, or cool/weird places. We bought a book called "Oddball Colorado" and we'll flip through, pick one, and go. We've found a ton of cool stuff this way.
Dinner & a local indie music show.
Bike ride through the neighborhood to a predetermined park to share some wine or an evening picnic.
Board Game night!
Craft Night. I knit or crochet or cross stitch, he usually sculpts with clay and wire to make jewelry, pendants, etc. We would do this while binge watching TV, but we make it a point to listen to a new music album every time now.
Paint n Sip Classes.
Pick a scenic spot, hike there together, and do watercolors. He loves it when we work on the same painting because it turns out silly.
Putt Putt, followed by strolling through a dead mall and going in the weirdo shops.
