Every girl here had either been cheated on or heard so many horror stories that it sometimes it feels like it's easier to just say AMALT, all men are cheaters and cry onto your fancy cat collection than have your heart broken with betrayal and humiliation. With many studies showing that women cheat just as much as men, how can we hold it against TRP for saying AWALT out of previous hurt and self preservation? The only way any woman or man can prove they're not a cheater is by not being one in your own relationship. There's plenty you can do in your relationship to keep up your value and new articles every day to learn tips to spot a cheater but will you spot a cheater when it's you?

AWALT is a commonly misunderstood piece of theory. AWALT doesn't refer to specific behaviors (ie all women cheat). AWALT refers to a woman's nature. Saying that all women cheat is as wrong as saying that all teenagers drink illegally. A lot do but a lot don't. However, saying that all teenagers like to have rebellious and irresponsible fun is more or less true and saying that drinking illegally is a common manifestation of that nature is more or less true. Saying that all women have the kinds of psychology which lead many women to cheat is more or less true, though cheating would only be one manifestation of it.

TRP built up a pretty deep and impressive model of social dynamics, men, women, and so on. The theory isn't a PUA style algorithm which works like "If x then y, do a then b, she'll q before s." Rather, it's there to understand what people and society is like so that you can properly react to affect larger society. AWALT just means that all women are described by some approximation of RP theories. AWALT is often brought up when a woman does a man harm but that's not the only time it's brought up. If you're on this subreddit then you almost certainly thought to yourself that you are indeed like that. It's not even a bad thing. Blue pill says it is but I'm yet to meet a blue piller who has any basic understanding of RP theory.

I didn't realize i was being so vague. I was trying to show How a woman would rationalize cheating behaviors based on trying to get the best relationship deal for herself, Like trying to upgrade but still have the provider back up which i don't think all women do by cheating but absolutely every woman will weigh her options before trying to get commitment. Ofcourse naturally every woman is going to think about finding the best possible partner since we only come with one uterus it's a bigger investment but there's ways to achieve that goal without hurting people. AMALT is a really common way to refer to how many men love variety and having multiple women around which is natural too because biologically they don't have anything to lose from impregnating as many women as possible. The physical nature is probably why women are more likely to forgive their cheating partners if a man still loves and provides for the original woman the same way but the cheating woman basically picks the other man over her partner so much so that she could be pregnant and using the partners resources to raise the other man's kid. So basically AMALT I'm referring to what a lot of women say when talking about guys cheating because they can't have multiple relationships in the open but naturally want variety. Idk if that clears it up but good comment, thank you.

Saw this today, thought I would reply to it.

I completely understand what you're getting across in terms of women's thinking.

I'm referring to what a lot of women say when talking about guys cheating because they can't have multiple relationships in the open

Many men have more than one partner openly. They just don't go around talking about it. All/some of the partners know about it.

And this is what those men have to give up. This freedom. There are very few problems that these men have with women. If something is not jiving with one woman, they simply replace her with a woman they better get along with. It is especially nice when they have one or two long term F-partners.

Think about these men going back into the relationship field. They lose all of their freedom. The question is what do they get in return?

Often times it's a woman that's just like the best woman out of the women you were already sleeping with. Yet the expectations have increased, the variety has been eliminated, a whole lot of responsibilities have been added, and more.

How is it that endorsed contributors in a red pill sub can go without understand the basic theories? I want my LTR to spend some time on here, but so many people don't know a damn thing about TRP and think if they cook and clean they're a RP woman.

[–]justanotherusername49 points10 points11 points 11 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't think imposing an elitist attitude contributes any more to the quality of this sub than people who 'only' cook or clean do.

I think it does, if being elitist means knowing (and expecting others to know) about the paradigm you (and they) claim to have.

than people who 'only' cook or clean do.

I never said 'only', and your insinuation that I'm belittling RPW's efforts by saying the endorsed contributors should know what things like "AWALT" are is pretty petty, and reminiscent of feminist PR "debating".

[–]RedCrayonWizard 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Wow. Well said. I would never be able to show this to my girlfriend, but I've been contemplating ending things with her at the end of the summer because of my path in my own life.

I leave for basic training in September (I'm in the National Guard, so I do come home after 15 weeks) and I don't know if I really want to experience what seemingly every other soldier goes through while deployed. I am afraid to even ask the red pill for advice because I know what the answer would be. AWALT, and yada yada.

I want to believe that I'm worth the wait, but when other branches are so easy to swing to at that point? Fuck. Guess I have my answer.

[–]cccch_6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Depends on your relationship and level of trust/commitment, I've been away from my partner for 4 months due to a moving process and living in different countries, but we talk everyday and I've never once batted eyelids at another man let alone considered jumping ship for someone else.

[–]Ringoddess3 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

My husband and I have survived very many months of ldr arrangements before I could immigrate to be with him, and it wasn't a struggle for either of us to stay committed. If you trust your lady, do not dump her. If she cheats on you in those 15 weeks, well, then she wasn't worth it in the first place, 15 weeks really aren't even much. My biggest struggle with my hubby being gone was that neither of us wanted to ever hang up on skype tbh, so yeah, if you're truly committed I wouldn't even know how "temptation" would ever come up.

[–]kadykinns1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It breaks my heart to know that while there are men fighting for our country and our freedom yet they rarely get to come home to a faithful wife. It's obv your choice ultimately I just wouldn't want you to give up a good relationship out of fear of whores or stay in a relationship with said whore. I wish you the absolute best. And thank you for your service

[–]RedCrayonWizard 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Despite what the red pill would suggest, I have no reason to believe that she's not going to be faithful. Fuck it. I'm sticking with this until the bitter or sweet ending. She has been great so far, and as a matter of fact, she suggested that we stay together, even though I told her she didn't have to wait for me. She was even a little angry with me for suggesting that we separate before I enlisted.

She is in the service herself, and attached to the same infantry division as I am - she works in a communication unit while I am in the infantry. I think she knows what the stakes are, and I'm not going to let the shitty women who've burned me before let me not have a great relationship with her. It wouldn't be fair to her to project my insecurity onto what we have going. If she cheats, I had a lot of fun. On to the next one.

Normally I wouldn't ask for advice for catching a fish from the fish themselves, but I guess I needed a way to get my thoughts out somewhere and this thread happened to be where it got dumped. Thanks for reading.

[–]kadykinns0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I am so happy you decided that. I wish you both nothing but the best because that's what you deserve. :)

[–]Roshambo_USMC1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

While it is possible there wouldn't be any big issues, it simply isn't likely. I deployed twice for seven months and each time the relationship went nuclear, and it always came down to the options available to my GFs when I wasn't one.

I even flew one down to my base for when we were coming home finally, and got delayed in Kuwait for 3 days. She stayed with another Marine buddy's (he was with me in Iraq) wife and kids in base housing. Didn't take long for her to find the tatted-up neighbor worth the swing and started messing around, unknown to me at the time. She even had me extend her ticket so she could stay longer after that, because "she missed me."

I eventually put it all together based off her odd-ass behavior and ended things on the spot once I got back, but it really, really messed me up man. In this case my GF I knew since we went to a Christian high school together, and I contacted her all the time each day to try and keep things strong, but the distance/time was too much and she just had to have Chad T. I found out later they worked on my "Welcome Home" sign together, and that she would call her friends and rave about how muscular and badass his tattoos were.

Dude was a loser actually and was getting pushed out of the military. She flew him back to her home state and he came once then she was "heartbroken" when he wouldn't commit. She was like 28 too, so not a newbie that shouldn't have seen the obvious consequences and climax to the story, but it still happened, even with all I did before to try and prevent winding up with another story for the fellas on deployment. It didn't matter what I did in the past, or that I'd be there in 2-3 days. It only mattered that Chad was there and I wasn't that night.

Anecdotal of course, but when you deploy for a long time like I did (about a year and a half) you speak with lots of Marines, soldiers, seamen (giggity), etc., and the sheer amount of horror stories should tell you that you simply shouldn't trust the odds on rolling that dice.

Best of luck to you in basic training. It is going to be hard enough already without having to be emotionally conflicted. You can build a great career and experience in the military, but it all comes to what you put in, and I'd recommend your strongest move is to go there physically and mentally/emotionally secure so you can do that and try and graduate honor grad/meritoriously promoted (really helps mid-level in ranks showing a past of excellence, and it all starts at basic/boot camp).

[–]RedCrayonWizard 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks for the advice. I feel like I don't have a whole lot to lose either way. I have good physical health and fitness and I'm attractive and confident, so if she walks, it's her loss. Abundance mentality rules all. We're not married or anything, and not planning on being so anytime soon so there's no fear of divorce rape. It's going to be tough. I get that. I'm not going to ditch it though, because on the off chance that it does work, I'd have tossed it away for what? The thought that she might cheat? She could do that while I'm at work tomorrow as well. So there's no point in not trusting her until she gives me a reason to not do so.

I hope it doesn't come off as shady or weird, but I have people who will keep me in the loop and and keep her accountable. Trust but verify kind of thing. If she can't handle it though, I'm confident she would end it respectfully and if that happens, maybe some women do have honor. She is bound by the same oath and values you and I are(or were) and I fully believe that she will honor that.

As for my career in the military, I intend on going as far as possible and achieve the highest rank I can in the Guard. I place the/my mission first. Wherever that will take me, I can't say. But if she's in that future, great. If not, thanks for playing.

[–]KungPaoEllenTheFist 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Fuck. Guess I have my answer.

Yes you do. AWALT. If you value your money and your sanity, you will avoid monogamy at all costs until you are finished with basic and any deployments. Military wives/girlfriends are the absolute worst women in the world.

[–]tintedlipbalm4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Seriously though, why is a staunch MGTOW such as yourself posting in RPW?

[–]KungPaoEllenTheFist 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm only MGTOW in the sense that all red pill men are MGTOW in their own way. I'm not celibate, and I don't avoid women or anything like that.

Anyway, I am replying to this post because I work for the military and live in a military town. I have seen with my own eyes the prevalence of the hypergamy on steroids that afflicts military wives and girlfriends. So if I can get one guy to avoid coming back from basic/deployment to find his accounts cleared out, his credit cards maxed, and his possessions (including dogs!) sold out from under him, then I am going to say something.

And I'm not the only one who will be saying something. He will get the same speech from his superiors when he gets to basic.

[–]tintedlipbalm1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh I was just curious about your motivations to browse here. I am familiar with the stereotype of military wives.

[–]KungPaoEllenTheFist 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I browse this sub because I appreciate the work you ladies are doing. I will usually only post if someone is asking about something that I am knowledgeable about, like the military. I have no problem with any of you calling me out if I ever step out of line. I just want to be helpful.

[–]Sawagurumi 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

All very well said.

"If you don't want to be falsely accused as a cheater then don't start inappropriate relationships outside of yours and have clear boundaries with everyone." Also, note that men are more accurate at detecting infidelity than women.
