I dont see any of this in the upper middle class area i live. Everyone wants to get married and start families soon after college. I dont know a single divorced parent at my kids school..

I do think the tradcon route is getting phased out of the american working class. I guess because men cant get factory jobs or whatever anymore while women can become servers or nurses and make a lot so their hypergamy is extremely unsatisfied

I'm not sure if it's happening less, but I've never seen a "high value man" want marriages before ~28. Mostly because men aren't high value before ~28.

Your question was whether it was the most conspicuous consequence to which I'd say: no, that's clearly not the most conspicuous consequence. That being said, it's certainly happening. It's even less common in guys who are socially adept. There are still some hot engineering-types who don't have enough experience with women to necessarily make the best choices (thinking of my phd stem friend who is about to marry a literal hag with no job), but people who are well socialized have too many options now to want to immediately settle down unless the girl snags them super young (college, etc.) or is very high value herself.

the men you're describing aren't really alpha per se, they're more like high value betas.

the reason there are fewer and fewer of them is because society has changed and the whole "be a hard working beta and get a good job" strategy isnt nearly as effective as it used to be in past generations.

in the past, there were a lot of girls from UMC families who didn't really have the ability to get a job that paid well enough to maintain the quality of life that they were used to. even for a lot of women who went to college. so they married some UMC guy with a decent job and all was right with the world

but just having a decent $70k job or whatever isn't really going to cut it anymore because so many 2019 women also have decent $70k jobs of their own. if you're going to try to rely on your income alone to get a quality wifey, you better have an exceptionally high salary. and that starts setting you up to be a beta bux dupe for gold diggers.

I work in business, and there are a lot of them (traditionalist family values, marry relatively young, churn out a bunch of kids, wife could work but chooses to stay at home with kids). Money is a big enabler here.

The respect that men get for this is definitely way down. This the MSM bias problem that the manosphere was talking about a decade ago.
