First and foremost, due to politics and socioeconomic circumstances, women no longer require a man for support. Without agency for a man, women now look to them solely for companionship. Because of this, compassionate (compassion - sympathetic pity and concern for the suffering and misfortunes of others) men are now highest in value. They're likely to be the most trustworthy kind of partners as well as the most caring fathers.

I'll borrow the 80/20 rule for this one, though actual numbers can't necessarily be gathered for reasons that'll be described later.

Let's say that every generation produces a number of children that will result in a population of single adults. The men of that generation will have 20% purely compassionate men on the top of the value scale, 20% purely non-compassionate men on the bottom, and 60% of men that fall somewhere inbetween.

Each percentage group is going to consist of high and low status men, determined by their attractiveness, economic level, and all the others with which we're familiar. The very top 20% will be snagged first, followed slowly by the others as they age. The lowest of the top 20% are the ones that will likely have to wait until their thirties for relationships.

The 60% muddy the waters as they can be indistinguishable from the top 20%. Situations that provoke strong emotional reactions tend reveal where men belong on the spectrum. In peaceful environments, men at the top of the spectrum might automatically be assumed to be part of the top 20%, and can maintain that if they don't indicate otherwise. Men in the bottom half will require a level of walking on eggshells to keep the peace. How often, and how tolerable that is will differ from relationship to relationship.

The bottom 20% is made up men lacking in compassion or empathy. High status men in this group, similar to low status men in the middle 60%, will demand an unrealistic level of compliance. Women either get trapped by these men, or escape as soon as they figure out what they're dealing with.

The lowest men are so undesirable, women will choose to be single rather than be with them. The incel community is a good example. One has to wonder, if these men are reacting to a lack of sex with such violent outrage towards society, how they'd behave towards an SO that says no?
