While studying forensic medicine as a medical student, this caught my eye. To claim coincidence would be being blind to the problem. What do you guys think is the reason for perversions being more common in males?

Simply put: they’ve been told it is inherently part of being male. They literally have no notification to change simply because they created the toxic system that perpetuates the same ideas that allow men to be sexual sadists.

As I have read in the past, male infants and children are more likely to develop lifelong psychological issues as a result of trauma. Male infants also have a higher infant mortality than baby girls, so certainly they are the weaker sex during these very significant foundational periods of their lives. They also have less empathy than females and are significantly more prone to aggression and delinquency. Add to that, a senseless world where misogyny is basically endemic and institutionalised, and you have a recipe for disaster.

Pretty much everything awful in humans is more commonly seen in males. I think it's a combination of nature and nurture. Males have higher testosterone, linked to sex drive and aggression. In conjunction with socialization that does almost nothing to control for their biology, most men simply turn out awful. 🤷‍♀️

Hmmm couldn’t it be argued that all men have a partialism paraphilia? Like so much of what we just accept is normal male healthy sexuality is actually fetish, mental illness and paraphilia. Like so many men fixate and obsess only specific body parts like breasts, buttocks, feet or have extreme preferences about nipple color/shape/size etc.

It's good the textbook doesn't whitewash the truth that fetishists are usually abusers of women. They rarely have only one paraphilia and they escalate into worse acts when the thrill of violation wears off. Never believe a man has a harmless fetish - he's only telling you about the most harmless seeming one and you will find out the rest when he's tried to trap you.

They also conducted a study and their conclusion is that sex drive accounted fully for the differences between men and women. However every time a study is done on this they find other correlations that also affect paraphilic interest to some extent, like sexual compulsivity, antisociality, sexual abuse as a child, being exposed to inappropriate content as a child... etc.

I can't find the study now but I think there was a survey somewhere that even if more male respondents than female respondents found a paraphilia arousing, they only found it "slightly arousing" for example. I think the normalisation of porn and "anything goes" when it comes to sexual gratification is making more people become more interested in paraphilias, while naturally they wouldn't become obsessed.

Unfortunately in this case it actually is biology. I read that male primates in general tend to be violent with rape tendencies :(
